Re:Super Crazy Home Game Player Hand I Pushed all-in for my last $100 he called and had jacks. GG me. Thanks guys for making feel better here. Yeah I didn't realize how bad he played it there with the nuts. I also was hoping he had QQ, and felt the best move here was to push. The guy doesn't know the value of a dollar, and I usually do take this guys money, and he really spews cash. One night I took $300 and I usually get a good pot off him here and there. I just hate having to sleep on a questionable move, you know what mean... Thanks Again Guys Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Super Crazy Home Game Player Hand First of all the guy is really loose and will play ANY 2 cards for 1 raise preflop. He Usually Raises Preflop with anything, but will play aggresive with good cards. Also This is a $1/2 Cash Game. Me- KK $200 Maniac- $350+ Preflop: He raises $7 I reraise $22 another guy calls behind me and so does the maniac. Flop comes J 5 2 He raises $10, other guys folds, I reraise $35, he then reraises $85. I have $150 behind me. What do I do here' MY thought process was the only hands I beat that he could have are KJ, AJ, or Queens, everything else I'm probably behind. I only had about $60 ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Wednesday Quarter Mil Good Tourney? I don't have a lot of time to play a lot of big tournaments, and the wednesday Quarter Mill seems like a good fit. In general how does this tournament play, are all the players above average, does it play like any other $50-$100 dollar freezeout, Just curious to see what you guys think about this tourney. Re:M and the SNG NO I know the odds here, I was kicking myself after the tournament, and this is why I made the thread, because I am obviously playing scared. The reason I did fold here was because a new "super tight player" raised my in the big blind, and I knew she had something huge, 10/10+. I had 2 8 in the big blind, she showed me jacks, but later I was still pissed that I didn't put the rest of my 4k in. So I guess you answered my ' you do shove with any 2 cards with 3bb UTG. M and the SNG Actually It's not an online SNG is a live Tournament with only 15 players that usually pays out about top 3 with the top 2 prizes being almost all the money. Don't get me started on the structure of this home game, its just bad. But with people smoking and slow dealing we just don't get a lot of hands in. Now when we get to the final table, I usually will have 10,000 chips and the blinds are 800/1600. Well, yesterday I blinded my self down to 6k in chips with the blinds 1k/2k. At that point I was Underthegun with 3c6h, do I push here' Well I didn't push and kept on getting ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Is this profitable?? THe real question is, is it profitable just to play all the way to step 6 London, where the_dry or some big name is usually waiting. Im playing the EPT steps. As usual I've decided to only dedicate $300 to this. What I really like to know, is should I be 4 tabling $27 SNG turbos, rather than playing these' What's more profitable'' WIndy Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Game Selection. I mainly play 1/2 PLO and NL Cash, and a big fan of good game selection, I know longer just click and play. What i was wondering is if you can usually assume a player is above average if he has close to the max buy-in' Windy Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:adderall I've been honestly considering taking adderall to concentrate. I drink a couple of redbulls sometimes to get a neurotic concentration feeling, but hate the "dehydration" effects on me. I'm currently going to the health club, and trying to diet to get "concentration", and energy "back" in my life. Hopefully I don't succumb to Adderall, but I know I would probably enjoy it. Re:Is this a call? 1/2 NL live Tough spot, a lot of players will play this all in with Ad. You have to call 100 and the pots giving you around 270. I will say most of the time your beat here, but do you have the odds to call knowing this'' don't have a calculator on hand, but you probably are going to win this 35% of the time. With the players probably being bad here, I might find a better spot to play all my chips. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Poker books... Harrington is good, and there is a lot of good advice in a ton of books. Just usually not the entire book. EX: Negreanus Power Holdem; half the book is really solid. Even though the OPs asking about books, it wouldn't hurt to look into a Video Training sites as well. P.S. If you use the search, there should be a few threads on this. Am I A FOOL??? $16 18man Turbo Strategy. I ended up final 3 last night, and final 4 get paid of course. The stacks were all about the same at 7,500 and the blinds were: 300/600. One of the players pushed 90% of the time. I'm not saying he was playing bad, but what do I do here' 1. Call his all in and Take the flip with any Ace' 2. Call his all in and Take the flip with any King' 3. Do the exact same thing, when I open. 4. Or just wait till I have a decent hand. WIndy Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:raise or call in plo and why? I don't think it's a horrible fold. He probably had something like AAxx. It was a limped pot so a random 2 is fine here. On the other hand I don't like to play xx22 or xx23 to often because it just gets you in trouble with bottom set or the wrong side of the straight. I don't think the fold here is bad, I just prefer a call on the Hero's end. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:raise or call in plo and why? Pharreal87, Maybe in a cash game you can get away from this hand, but you just can't fold here imo. The title is raise or call. With a call, theres a small chance he might freeze up. But if he doesn't have the kings here, There are only a few hands that can catch up here. so let him draw to something he likes, then double up. on bubble- 1/2 my chips in pot, do I make this raise?? With 4 players left- I am on the bubble of a live tournament and I have 6k in chips with the blinds being 500/1000. In first position i raise 3k with 10/10. The Big Blind Calls, and The flop comes: A K J I raise the rest of my chips. and get called my ak. I wondered if I should have check folded here' Or Maybe I should have gone allin Preflop' or Maybe I should have limped(doubt it). WIndyCity Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Need 1/2 NL Home Game Advice Thankyou, all the advice is spot-on with whats going on in my game. Not only is it difficult adjusting to playing cash games. I noticed I had a little trouble adjusting to live play. I just seem to get really really bored, not having 4-6 games going at once. Does anyone else have the same problem' For example do you bring a PSP or Handheld device with you' I know I should be playing more position, but I def wasn't keeping the faith in my game; Every time I was on the button or steal positions; everyone limps in! Need 1/2 NL Home Game Advice Hey, I figured I give this site a chance. I've been playing poker for a while, and have won over 100,000 in SNG and MTTs. But I'm fairly new to cash games and especially the home game cash game. Let me give you a little information about the play. 8 handed, usually 4-5 players a flop. Usually a Loose player or regular player will Raise to $5-7 each hand. The players I would call as semi-loose preflop, and post flop they won't call anything over $10 unless they have something pretty decent. But they will happily call $5-8 with overcards. They are weak players and will call you ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
