Good live tournaments in Michigan and surrounding areas
I'm considering going to Hammond this month for $500 buy-in tourney($15K added to prizepool, and final 9 players in July win seat into 250K guarantee-$1500 Buy-in Tournament in August). Plus I guess they give away a bunch of seats to the cash game players throughout the month, so the field is pretty soft. Looked at blind structure, and it seemed OK, had the dreaded 100-200-25 to 200-400-50 level jump. Overall structure looks decent, 40 minute blinds, 10K starting stacks(8k+2k for $10 dealer toke) Here is link for structure

Live 30 man MTT question
Just to clarify a few points, Carbide had about 25K in chips before hand started, which was 1200 less then villian. Carbide raised to 5200, and blinds were 1200-2400-300, 6 handed on the money bubble, so it was about 20K to call, not 1200, and pot was about 35K or so, so not quite 2 to 1 on the call. Additionally, Carbide's assertion that the villian was out of the running for seat is false, if he wins the tournament, it puts him in 9th place, and 1st through 9th get seats. So his re-shoving range is tightened up considerably. The points go from 65-75-90-105-125-150 from 6th to 1st ...

Today's FTP Update
I'm assuming carte blanche service hits mgr for rakeback purposes. If it does, then I think you are better off buying 5K cash bonus for 1.1 Million points, which nets you $3650(73% of 5K) after rakeback hit, versus the carte blanche service, which will net you $4400 for 1.1 million points, but if it hits MGR, reduces to $3212(73% of $4400). Not sure if it works out the same for smaller bonuses, but imagine it does. Can anyone confirm that carte blanche hits MGR'

Did I play this hand wrong? Any suggestion how I shoul've had played my hand?
I'm either jamming min-raise on the flop, or folding. Never ever ever calling flop min raise.

Playing to cautious?
I think I raise the flop. Pretty drawy board, where a lot of turn cards are going to kill your action, or leave you in an akward spot (any diamond, Q, or 10). As played, I check behind on river for reason stated by Graps.

Problem spot..
I agree with Slay here, but largely dependent on Player tendencies and HUD stats. MRPERFEKT's 3 bet looks like he might be trying to induce a 4 bet shove either from behind, or from original raiser. Definitely a fold or jam, but I lean toward folding, as a 4 bet gets almost all the hands you have dominated to fold and all the hands that dominate you, or you are flipping with to call.

ICM Question - Live 10 man SNG bubble
Yeah, I ended up shipping the tourney, when I got it all in with 9-9 vs 7-7 all in pre heads up, and I had him covered by like 1K. Guy who called with A-Q ended up finishing 3rd. Graps, couldn't you just treat the call as his calling range, and mine as an open shove, but now his stack only has 13K in it, and the pot has 21.8K in it, and he has to call off his last 13K to win the 21.8K' In other words, what If I open shoved making the pot 21.8K, and he had to call 13K to win, is it a call then' Does that make sense' I guess the only problem is you would have to adjust the blinds to make the ...

ICM Question - Live 10 man SNG bubble
Graps, thanks for the info, just a couple points of clarification. The shoving and calling ranges quoted above are if the SB open shoves correct' If so, I can buy that, although I too am a little suprised at how wide his shoving range is given the super short stack at the table. The first question I had, which I'm not sure if you can answer or not, is once the SB bets 4K of his 17K, and the BB shoves, what is the SB calling range at this point. Seems to me once the SB has created an exploitable situation by only betting 4K, his calling range of the BB shove , due to the short stack and the ...

ICM Question - Live 10 man SNG bubble
I was playing a live $200 10 man SNG last night, and the following occured: Top 3 spots pay - $1K, $600, $400. There are four of left, blinds are 800-1600-200 and the stacks are as follows: Button: 4.5K(Less than 3 BB's) SB: 17K BB(Me): 50.5K Cutoff/UTG: 28K Action folds to SB, who makes it 4K. I'm pretty sure I can shove ATC in this spot, and it is profitable, but I happen to look down at 9-9, so I shove. SB thinks forever, and calls with Ad-Qd. SB ends up winning the hand, but we get in a discussion of whether or not he should be calling in this spot. I argue that ICM says once he lets me ...

Trying to figure out what my calling range is here. Obv I called, but not sure it was the "right" play based on ICM. Any help from an ICM expert would be appreciated. Standard payout of 50%,30%,20%. Rush poker tournies
Just my two cents, but I don't think the rush tourneys are going to have a bunch of MTT players converting over. These rush tourneys would be difficult to multi-table, esp. like 12 or 16, and they punish you for taking longer to play, since the SB and BB are determined by who has gone the longest (in time, not hands) without posting. I've played a couple, and like them if I only want to play one tourney, but if I'm doing any multi-tabling, I wouldn't want to play a bunch of these, or mix them with other non-rush MTT's. All of that being said, the lower level MTT's may ...

How to use OPR
I tend to look at ROI for the tourney's I'm playing, so in this case the 46-180 player line I believe, and I look at total number of games played. If they have less than like 200 tourneys, I pretty much ignore, since the sample isn't big enough, with the exception of really big ROI's (negative and positive). On Tilt, I then use the color coding in the notes to indicate whether they are winning players (blue), losing players(red), or not enough info (orange).

Final Table Bubble really tough spot please help!!
Pretty gross spot, but I think I lead the flop for like 40K, at which point he probably shoves, I probably end up making a crying call, although you can certainly argue for a fold depending on the player. In this case, it sounds like it was hard to put this guy on a hand, given his previous actions. I would expect a re-raise from any over pair to your 9's pre-flop, except maybe 10's, which he probably isn't shoving if he hits top set. Really hard to put him on Q's here the way the action played out. The only hand you can really put him on that you are behind is like A-10,K-10, ...

help with hand
If Hurricane has been as active as you say, then I snap him with Q-Q. He either has gotten really lucky on you and pick up a monster, or believes since you have folded to him the last 4 times he 3 bet you (assuming you folded all those times), that you would fold again without anything but A's or K's. My guess is he felt you were trying to make sure you got to FT, and was hammering the FT bubble as much as he could. If he 4 bet you 3 times in last 10-15 hands, you are way way way ahead of his range. If he has A's or K's, or sucks out on you, then you just got unlucky. Also, if ...

thoughts
I think the re-steal attempt is fine, and should have obv worked in this spot, as initial raiser had Qh-8h. Without better knowledge of the villians post flop play, its hard to say whether you can possibly fold to his shove on the flop. That being said, I'm not really crazy about the re-steal, only because you potentially put yourself in a spot where you playing a big pot OOP with a garbage hand.

Did I make a good call or could I of mucked at this point in the tournament
Ship it all day, you only have 17 BB's, a 55-45 (as a worst case scenario) to double up and be in top 10 in chips with 80 left is good enough for me.

What is your next move and why?
4 handed against what you have already described as an active and aggressive player, I ship A-K suited all day long. You are way way ahead of his range given his previous actions at the FT, not too mention if you win this hand(assuming he calls), you have like 2.5 times as many chips as the other two combined. If he folds, you still pick up like 18K to get you to 103K or so total, which is basically a superstack. Worst case scenario, he calls, and you are most likely racing, or you have him dominated.

Is this a bad call? I feel like I get rivered every single time
I think shove here is fine, given that the raiser only has 6 BB's and an M of about 3, his shoving range is pretty wide, and you are way ahead of it with A-10. If you were in Early or middle position, I probably lean towards a fold.

MP 6d6c - 2nd Hand of Tourney
I agree with Salamander, I'm definitely calling pre-flop and hoping to hit my set. Once the flop comes horrible, I'm probably done with the hand, but if I think his bet was really weak, then I may pop him on the flop to take the pot down right there, or else get to the river for free (assuming he calls my raise), and the guy behind folds. That being said, since it was 2nd hand of tourney, I probably just fold to his flop bet.
