Profiling A Player I pretty much colour tag everyone at my tables with these classifications: Blue (nit) - 12/10 or lower Purple (tight fish) - 15/6 or 20/4 type Light Blue (tight reg) - 15/12 Yellow (bad reg) - this could vary quite a bit. could be 28/20, could be 19/11 Green (solid reg) - 19/16, 22/18 Orange (decent agg reg) - 25/22, 28/23 Pink or light purple (fish) - 40/9, 48/6, 52/12, 48/30, 60/40 Red (hyper agg reg or maniac) - 33/27, 36/25, 35/32 high 3b % also and agg factor I'll usually tag after 20 hands and monitor and change the tags as necessary. I also have coilour ranges for all the stats ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Good Fold? (KK Preflop) He could have AA here yes, but you always have to take into account the "idiot factor", which is much larger at these stakes. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

$33: 55 utg, 17 bigs at a loose table This is why. They are all profitable shoves but some of them are only barely profitable. A shove chart isn't the bible either, it might tell you to shove preflop when raise/call or raise/fold would be better depending on your position, your opponents and the stack sizes. Getting too aggressive over LP raises? This is the third thread you've made on restealing in about three days. In the first one I showed you how to calculate if it would be profitable or not. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

$8.80: Late stages, UTG min, 66 in BB This is my standard too. Call pre, we just about have the odds. C/F anything but a 6 on the flop. You could also possibly shove pre depending on the villains opening range and how often he is folding to it. We don't know anything about the villain though. Provide stats and reads with every hand. $11: How to extract more value from AA, set on flop Fizzy pants you need to provide reads on the villain with every hand. I'm generally shoving this preflop but if I think the guy is going to be folding it too often (check his steal and fold to 3bet stats) then as BenFaz says we have a good stack to flat preflop. $33: 55 utg, 17 bigs at a loose table Even this range is way to wide for shoving 17.5bbs utg+2 imo. I'm definitely not shoving ATs, A5s, KTs, KQo, QJs for this much. Profitable yes but very marginal and a high variance way of playing poker. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

$33: 55 utg, 17 bigs at a loose table This is completely different from the other spot though. You have less than 10bbs so easy shove, also at a shorter table. If OP had 10bb it would be an easy shove for him, but things change when you get to over 15bbs in EP. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

$33: 55 utg, 17 bigs at a loose table Problem is, you raise a small pair off 17bb in EP, you get flatted from behind and you're playing 15bbs or under effective OOP. What do you do if you raise 55 and ger 3bet or shoved on' You're just putting yourself in tough spots. Jamming preflop isn't good either as we don't often get called by worse pairs for that many BB's and when called we're flipping at best. Best to just fold the small pairs and wait for a more profitable spot. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

$33: 55 utg, 17 bigs at a loose table My standard would be to fold 22-77. I probably raise and evaluate 88-99 and ship TT JJ QQ depending on the table. When your stack is at this point, every pot is kinda crucial and you want to be very careful with it in EP. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

$10r: 11bbs, QTs utg, 7 players, bad push??? But we are on life support with 11bbs, It's a profitable shove and would be a mistake not to take it, even if it is at the bottom of our shoving range. It does well against calling ranges too. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Is this shove by bigdog std? It's 100% standard, for anyone who doesn't know how to work out if it is or not use: and plug in the numbers. Villain only needs to fold 8% of the time to make this profitable. We obviously don't know how the villain was playing but for example if we estimate he's opening 15% from his position and is only calling us with 66+,ATs+,KQs,AJo+,KQo (9.2%) He would be calling us 61% of the time and folding 39% of the time He only needs to fold 8% of the time and he's folding 39% so pretty clear. My ranges could be way out but should provide an example of how it's done. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

UKIPT Edinburgh It's 15k starting stack. It's a fantastic structure, really enjoyed Newcastle and Bristol. Did you win a package / seat on Pokerstars' If you did, you get an invite to the VIP party and that's really really good. At the last one we had a free bar all night :) Posted in: Live Poker |
