For someone that probably has the record for most ridiculous pots in online poker history, playing $0.50/$1.00 and not simply going all in ever hand must be incredibly boring... So the question is, how much do you think Stars is paying him to play these low limits'

ITM does not equal ROI... so a high ITM % isn't the same for these as it is for DONs

I agree with MFT.... that only way i shove here is with a lower stack or if the table permits.... most of the $5 5050 players are trying to give you your money.... there is no need to walk into AK because you got a little agro here.... this isn't a MTT

I agree that this is awful for transfer... i would absolutely love to see it go away so that i know i'm transfering money to the right guy... go back to the towns.. it is much better...

well at 15 tables you are going to have to sit here and play a good amount of $10 5050s to make Supernova.... at least i think youmentioned the 10's... 7500 / 2.64 = 2840 / ~15 per hour = 189 hours So lets hope you have either alot of spare time or this is your "job"

Help me replace the double or nothings
MFT I've played only ~300 of these.... but have run ~8% i think... i'd have to open my poker tracker to make sure.... a good part of the first ~100 was getting a feel of them though... and it was all "pre-no DONs" .... i'm wondering if they will get harder as DON players join them

I played ~255 of the 5050s to see how they are... and am running at 13% ROI... Just because they are "unknown" and not the incredible BOT poker that everyone has come use to with DONs... does not mean they are not profitable.. yes i realize my sample is small

Though I understand your concern as you are a DON player, the fact that they are removing them is not my real issue. I understand they want to keep things fresh. The problem is they know how popular DONs are, especially the turbos, and are going to profit considerably over time due to the increase in rake. It is almost a socialist game, take from the turbos and give to the non.

Well I sent Stars support an email and they forwarded it to their room management. If they respond, I'll be sure to post it here. I don't necessarily mind them changing the rake structure. What I mind is them raising it for turbos but lowering it for non-turbos. The ROI generated on Turbo DONs is low enough already. I'm certain that the ROI generated on 5050's won't be considerably higher. Increasing the rake by 0.8% makes a significant difference over time. And if they feel that it is justified to raise the rake due to payout structure, why did they lower it on non-turbos'

Well I think you are just seeing the effect of rounding... Follow my example above... the 10's say they are paying out 0.33 for every 100 chips well they are really paying out 0.33333333333333333 they even state it is to rounding... I ran my own calculator in Excel and input the information... it appears to be correct for the 5's it is 0.166666666666666

Has anyone noticed this... $10 levels - all are the same i'm sure: Turbo DON: 10.40 Non-Turbo DON: 10.80 Turbo 5050: 10.48 Non-Turbo 5050: 10.60 Notice' Non-turbo players going from DONs to 5050 are getting a discount.... turbo players going from DON to 5050 are paying more' Why''' Why not keep a similar structure' It seems this is taking advantage of the higher volume that Turbo players are putting in on these tournaments... This is not an ANTI-5050 thread... just why are we getting charged a higher fee..... non-turbo players are getting a discount...

Stars 5050 SNGS: ROI?
What do you all think a solid ROI is for these new tournaments' I know that when I used to play the DONs a solid grinder would average between 5 - 10% Do you think that 10%+ is something a real solid player could sustain in these' or should we expect a similar range'

I agree with jsagan77 in terms of his definition....technically datamining is just examining the data you possess... but I don't think that is the intention of what FTP says... they certainly mean don't gather data you weren't involved in.... if they didn't want PT then they certainly could make an effort to state so

PokerStars will no longer offer Double or Nothing Sit & Go’s, Effective February 15th
Created a calculator today for these things. They are really driven by two things, if you haven't figured that out yet. Cash % as with DONs chips remaining i ran quite a few break even points with it.... i was kind of surprised how high a cash % or how high your average chips had to be on these to be profitable... it will be interesting to see what becomes the "standard" strategy on them...

I seriously doubt they are considering keeping them. I think they just realized stopping in the middle of the month after an abrupt announcement was kind of odd. I only have a small sample of these 5050s but i'm not sure that I like them either. I played 2 small sets - of 8 a piece... just to see how they ran first set i cashed 62.5% of the time and had an ROI of 17.16% second set i cashed 87.5% of the time and had an ROI of 29.13% had i run with those cash rates on a DON ROIs would have been 20.2% 68.3% I really think part of the thing stars has done is just created a game that is ...

what about how much easier it probably is for bots to run DONs' Really one basic strategy to figure... whereas the 5050s there is a little bit more room for strategy evolution... i personally think they are very very similar tournaments.... 5050s will likely be a bit looser and maybe a bit harder to multi table 20+.... i just wish stars would give us a real idea WHY they changed them.... i'msure they were making a killin on the DONs with how much people multi tabled them... maybe they think they'll still be multied so they can get that higher rake they are charging

because they are too similar... I understand some of the reasons to get rid of DONs.... but unless the primary reason is they think the bots have taken too much control in them.... none of them can REALLY justified... i personally like the fifty 50s a bit because they aren't as ridiculously tight as the DONs became... everyone played every DON the EXACT same way

are the sites doing anything to update people' a few weeks ago it told me it was no longer available in my state on both sites.... now it is up on both sites... though i'm wary to use it if it is causing problems with the banks.... simply isn't worth it
