Good list of the Top 5. Also have to consider Hank Greenberg. Like Joe D., Hank missed several productive seasons to fight in WWII. Frank Robinson is also in the discussion for top 10. Honus Wagner and Nap Lajoie are dead-ball era candidates. Several people have mentioned Pujols among active players. Vlad the Impaler should also get some love. That said, Manny is a great one. First ballot Hall of Famer.

Look at the recent polls for Montana: McCain is at > 49-50% since the conventions in Montana. Obama + Undecided + Other < McCain, except for 1 early poll. Conclusion: Paul will have no effect in Montana, unless McCain directly loses support to Paul. (If an Undecided voter goes for Paul, that vote takes away from Obama's already slim chance to catch McCain.) McCain hasn't lost support to anyone in Montana so far, and I don't see much evidence of that happening. I think Paul may take votes away from Barr of voters who have already decided they dislike both Obama & ...

Word of advice: don't bet on Palin in 2012. Losing VP candidates hardly ever get their party's Pres. nomination and are not likely to win. Bob Dole was the last losing VP candidate to become a Pres candidate, and we know how that ended. The last losing VP to win as President' FDR Winning VPs get a huge advantage towards becoming President or at least a Pres nominee. But losing VPs rarely get a second chance at a national ticket. (See Jack Kemp, John Edwards, Joe Lieberman, Lloyd Bentsen.)

You can go out and spend your winnings now. is offering Obama over 370 EVs at 15-8 odds! You are stealing money for getting 2-1 for > 285. You should take the 299 bet, but for less money. Check out the map at / Obama has a lead of > 4% in 320 EVs now. That's not counting VA, NC, NV, MO, and IN, which are considered toss-ups. Obama is slightly ahead in VA and NC. Don't take the Jeremiah Wright bet. That church has a new, young (and sane) minister already. He's not going to quit.

Human nature is that someone who had a "golden key" to a "rigged poker site" would not stay disciplined enough to relentlessly steal at lower small stakes levels. Human nature is to get greedy. If you can make nickels for free, then why not dimes, then dollars and soon it's not small stakes anymore. Human nature is also to think that you won't get caught, until you get caught.

Eagleton was McGovern's first running mate in 1972. After the Dem convention, it was discovered that Eagleton had been treated for serious depression, including the use of electroshock, like Jack Nicholson's character in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Eagleton quietly resigned. The election wasn't going to be close, because it was the height of Vietnam, and McGovern was running on a slogan of "Come Home, America." This wasn't very popular to start with. After Eagleton, the election was a blow-out.

I'm not 100% certain, but I'd bet that PStars does NOT actually own, build, and run the poker room. I think it's very likely they just bought the naming rights, like Citibank bought the name of the new baseball park for the NY Mets or Heinz for the Steelers football stadium. I would guess that the Grand Waldo decided they would build an impressive poker room and then inquired to see who might pony up for the advertising. In Dubai, they are actually selling the naming rights of stops on the intracity train system.

I disagree. If she had won $9 million, then whatever Playboy would offer her would look like nothing. But while winning $334K is quite nice, Playboy would give her a chance to double up. Thus, it is more likely that you could see a "Girls of the Felt" issue on newsstands soon.

I stand corrected, and I apologize for jumping to conclusions. There have been problems in online poker, most notably at Absolute Poker. However, I personally know Lee Jones, who used to work at Poker Stars. They were making money hand over fist, dealing a fair game and growing traffic to the site. I think that Stars has a well-deserved reputation for fairness and customer service, at least in comparison with other companies.
