Heard this about sets, think it's B.S.
So I'm reading up on sets, and odds of flopping one is about 8/1, right' Then I read a couple articles saying that, as a rule, you should actually go for 12/1 implied odds when contemplating a call. Thinking goes, "sometimes people will completely miss the flop and just fold, which won't make up for the 8 bets you need to make up in implied odds." But doesn't THAT forget to consider that you might felt someone with like 30 bets and make up for the times everyone misses' Wondering if the experts can weigh in.

Re(10): GREAT DEBATE: Best $4.40 player?
Just FYI I was chip leader for a while in that tourney at Annette's table and I have some screen shots (don't know how to post pics on here still). En route to that win, she ran prety good when she was the shorty: 1. J-7 straight busted AK suited - stays alive 2. J-4o busted AK suited again - trip 4s to stay alive This happened in within about 5 mins of each other with her just pushing randomly. Annette has obviously proved herself in tourneys and has no need to defend herself here, but to base this entire thing on one tourney is pretty lame. (side note: This was an awesome display ...

Who is the best $4.40 SNG player?
I play these quite a bit and have a handful of wins, more top three cashes, etc. About 80 per cent ROI, which kinda sucks but playing better lately. ANYWAYS, just wondering, with roachclips playing $12 turbo 45-mans now and aconsuma moving up with his 10K cashes, who's next' Who else is in this top echelon of $4.40 grinders' I haven't come across anyone in the same league.

Re(7): Attempted Cheat Unsuccessful (Aaron Been)
Wouldn't this be like walking up to some rando internet donkey who managed to get deep in the WSOP main event and saying, "hey, I'll give you 120K and I'll take over now. Thanks." Something tells me that wouldn't be allowed. Just a thought.

Re(1): Has anyone on P5's ever won a large MTT $5 or less buy-in...?
I've won two $4.40 - 180 man, second once, a few more FTs, plus two $5 buy ins on Party Poker (where the players are even worse). The secret is take all the fancy moves you're planning on making to accumulate chips and flush them down the toilet. They're useless against donks, and they will call with bottom pair, no kicker. On the flip side, you should limp a lot with good speculative hands when the blinds are low, and really push it if you flop a monster - you will get paid off. To put it in perspective, if you ever cash in one, go to official poker ranking and check out the final table ...

Re(3): Cool stories about meeting big-time pros?
I made accidental eye contact with Don Cheadle (Hotel Rawanda guy) when he was playing low stakes NLHE at Bellagio. I think they were in town filming Ocean's 13 or something. Oh, and apparently Gnarles Barkley was at Tangerine when I was having dinner at the Coffee Shop in TI. That's just a reference for the history books, since I'm pretty sure 2-4 months from now nobody will know who Gnarles Barkley was.

Re(1): can i build a roll with $500 by only playing sats?
Hey dude...my roll started @ $50 this month and now at $600 just from playing Sats. Play the $11.70 double-shootout REGULAR (turbo is a crapshoot) late at night - short-handed tables with lots lots of fish who don't know how to play poker in the early stages and don't know standard push/fold late. I just cash out the $T and then play SnGs to convert the tourney dollars to cash.

And fearlessness...these guys somehow know when to push on the bubble with 4-6o when their read tells them someone is making a play...I'm sure that just comes down to experience and having seen it a billion times....

Re(2): To the whiners who think it's a good thing online poker keeps taking hits
P.S. I only wrote that post because I think it's sad that the country that drove the poker revolution is going to be shut out. It's the principle of the thing. Anyone who can still access Party knows there are still plenty of Euro fish around and as the companies expand more into Asia the pond will only grow. Just blows the U.S. won't be there to enjoy it because of such ridiculous and overbearing policy. It's a card game!

To the whiners who think it's a good thing online poker keeps taking hits
Every night I log on here, I see two or three new posts basically saying, "well, it sucks all these bad things are happening to online poker, but maybe it's a good thing. There are very few winning players anyways, and it leads to addiction, blah blah blah." Ya, not a high number of players are +EV, but some still like the challenge of attacking something and trying to get better. Poker is like an intellectual sport, but not a boring one like quoting Chaucer or something. Some people know they're going to lose most of the time, but they still get the rush of that win once in a while (and ...

Re(5): should I play on Party?
I have noticed the same - the $11 speed SnGs are a joke now. Almost no more tourney leaderboard types who used to own them. All fish from deutschsland who have never heard of sheets, scott fischman, etc.

Re(3): What is Party going to do
ps it's kind of a scam they're basing the payouts on the understanding that each qualifier would be full, which they weren't if I'm not mistaken. I think these were worth more than they're paying but hey at least we get something

I sure hope they start running more tourneys...seems much more limited compared to Party if your bankroll is confined to $10-$30 buy-ins.
