Re:so you take over an mtt for your friend.... I did this when I first got started one time. Found out something came up, and called a friend after playing the first 2.5 hours. He took over and got to the final table before I could return and finish it. We split it 50/50. I do feel I got the worse end, because I had built up a top 10 stack before, so I think circumstances do change things. If you only play the first hour, probably closer to shipping him 60-80%, but if you play a significant portion, then I think it obviously goes closer to 50/50 (and never going below that -- he did you a favor) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:micro stakes cash Raise more pre. 5x usually works in .01/.02, sometimes it takes up to 8-10x. You can definitely call the reraise, definitely check behind on riv. You are likely good, but villain could easily be one of the "better crappy players" that will be cautious with overpair on this board. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:.01/.02 NL to .05/.10 NL I actually have just made these jumps, and would say that depending on your skill level, the jumps are actually noticeable. .01/.02 is more for making sure you understand how to profitably play cash games (big hand big pot, small hand small pot... etc) a lot of player are total fish cakes, so just take them to value town. .02/.05 will start introducing you to "reasonable" players. generally not any good regulars (anyone good wins and moves up). solid fundamental poker works very well. value town works well here, although there are good spots to steal pots in position. .05/.10 is ... Re:who thinks they can make more money in $1.10 45's for a 3hour period? I don't think 100 of these start in 3 hours, although perhaps it gets close to that. It seems like they start about every 5 minutes, which would be 36 in 3 hours... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Single Table Sit and Go Stratergy's Define loose, but if he's shoving with 88+ AQ+ -- I consider that to be loose; I fold JJ as AQ is flipping, and Call with QQ+, AK. Find spots where you dominate his range. Be just fine getting in as a 75/25, 70/30 type situation, avoid the 60/40-50/50's early. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:SEMI BLUFF VS THE FREE CHECK It depends if you think you could realistically get raised. If there is a good chance (good being like 20-30%, not >50%) then you should take the free. If you won't get raised, this should almost always be a bet. Take the lead when you can, you win more pots like that. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

How good a spot do you need? I was playing a $4.40, and after a few levels, (we were at 50/100) I came into the following situation. ***SORRY I DON'T HAVE THE HH, I'M NOT AT HOME*** Me (button) 4,500 Villian 1 (E/MP) 4,100 Villain 2 (BB) 1,500 Hole Cards Dealt [Ad,Qd] Villain 1: Raise to 300 Me: Calls 300 Villain 2: Raise 1,200 to 1,500 All In. Villain 1: Calls 1,200 (He thought a long time, felt weak) Me: Raise 3,000 to 4,500 All In. (Decided that I wasn't crushed by Villain 1, Villain two had been loose, so I could have him crushed) Villain 1: Calls. I know the hand played questionably, and I probably ... "Resteal" I see people posting about struggles late in tournaments, and one thing that usually gets thrown out there is that they need to resteal more. I just finished a tourney and found myself wondering, what is the definition of resteal' Is it any reraise/3-bet/whatever you want to call it, or is it actually a steal' Is reraising with what you expect to be best a resteal, or is it just a value play' Cliff notes: Is it still a resteal if you actually have a good hand, or only when you do it with something marginal' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:9 man turbo sng grinders... whats ur play here? Because of the min reraise, if the min reraise is anything besides AA, the guy is retarded, but since he min raised, I think it's safe to say he's retarded. QQ is definitely ahead of his range. You can either jamski or reraise; if you're feeling extra weak you can flat and fold to an Ace, but that just seems bad. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Luck Factor on FTs Just finished one up this morning, and couldn't help but think that it was a really unlucky FT. Are any of these spots non-standard' 1) 8 handed, blinds of 6,000/12,000; KK (800,000) runs into AA (375,000) 2) 6 handed, blinds of 10,000/20,000; TT (400,000) runs into AA (250,000) 3) 4 handed, blinds of 10,000/20,000; 22 (1,000,000) calls a 60,000 preflop raise (1,200,000) in position. Flop: AT2 - with 2 diamonds. "Raiser" checks, 222 bets 1/2 pot. "Raiser" min raises; 222 Jams for 2x the pot. "Raiser" calls with TTT. Sorry if this is being results ... Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re:Need Advice Please, late $4.40 I timebanked and called. He showed QQ. GG. Funny - plan had been to fold to original raiser (who had been tightish) and I hadn't seen this guy overlimp/reraise. He had been overlimping weak, so I wanted to take the pot preflop. Djk - The guy limping loose was the only read I had. He hadn't limp/reraised me, but I had popped his limps before (always with raise worthy hands, but it had to look fishy to him). Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Need Advice Please, late $4.40 So funny didn't like my raise pre, any more thoughts on that. As for reads; it really goes both ways. He had been limping loose a lot, and I had been popping him preflop because of it. Is this really a bad raise' -- I figured to have the best hand vs limper/overlimper and didn't want to play out of position, any less is inviting calls I think' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Do you shove this river with Qs full? His range, AA, KK, JJ (he can't have QQ with that board), AK. since there are only 4 possible hands that beat you (3 KK/1 JJ), and a bunch of AA and AK combinations, how is this not a shove' You would need a very good read to put him one of the 4 preflop hands that beat you here, and without metagame, you're not gonna have it. Shove and maximize your value incase he made some crazy AJ play or slowplayed his AA. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
