Re:Most efficient way to make ~$2000/month playing poker?
I think specializing and 2 tabling in a form of heads up poker would be the most efficient. As far as which game, I guess it depends on what your goals are. The average nl player has a clue in the state of today's game. That's not to say there isn't money to be made. From my experience, I would choose limit or horse if I were in your shoes. I would lean more torwards horse because It would not burn me out as fast. If you're in it solely for the $ i would choose limit in today's state. gl

Re:HORSE Final Table HORRIBLE for Poker's Image
I think this is bad for the intergrity of the game. But as far as the general public, all they see is a drunk asian guy/"champion" drinking more alcohol, talking a lot of shi** and winning 1.9 million in the process. Makes it more enticing for the average viewer to pick up the game imo. Which in turns means there's more money in the poker economy for us players. Bad for the game, good for my pockets in the short term(5-10) years. But as far as taking poker to a higher level, maybe it is bad... Can this be compared to the celebrations of nfl touchdowns or trash talk between ...

Re:for the serious players, high stakes and lo
Try to view making the most optimal decisions as "winning", rather than tournament wins or large cashes as success. As they can be achieved through poor play. I've yet to fully mold mind to perceive things this way but believe it is ideal for the sake of a poker player's longterm health.

Re(1): Any successful poker players ever lose passion for the game and just quit?
Hey scott I know exactly what you're going through as I've experienced it. I've also applied myself and became well above average and almost addicted to other things only to lose passion for it. (basketball, counterstrike, music). I think it's our personalities. We're compulsive people who enjoy the challenge and stimulation with things we're infatuated with. When you've pretty much done it all, it no longer is challenging nor stimulating but more of a mundane grind.I would suggest finding other avenues to challenge yourself, preferably a physical activity. Submerge yourself in it for a while ...

The first day I started keeping records I lost $7,157. The FTOPS $2500 event ran that day so it wasn't THAT bad. But talk about a great start for keeping tally.

Re(1): Time to cut losses on being a pro?
Try reading books on improving your state of mind. Your play can be improved just as mine's and everyone else's but your state of mind while playing is every so important. Believe it or not it's very possible statistically that you'll go on a run even worse than the one you're currently experiencing eventually. Poker is truly a great game because it really tests/develops one's character. There's tons of ways to make money out there, but how many can you truly say gives you the rush, traveling, networking with other degens, and self-development that poker does. Try setting goals for yourself ...

Same scammer almost got me on full tilt. They even had a sick scams setup where they pretended to talk to another high profile online player as if it were a normal conversation. Do not send to screen names you think look familiar, make sure you verify first.

Re(1): What's your longest BAD STREAK?
3 months, of nonstop tilt and cold cards. The bigger factor was tilt me about 75k which was my whole bankroll basically. Looking back, I shouldve lost only about 1/4th of that. It was a good expensive lesson however, and now I refuse to give in to variance without a fight. Just make sure the cold deck isnt causing you to tilt and you'll be fine. A break for a week or two wouldnt hurt, but make sure you're constantly reviewing your play and being totally honest with yourself. Good luck.
