Re:Grinding MTT 180 mans.
Only if you can handle the downswings. You may think you understand variance, but these will prove you wrong. It is hard to get a full slate of just the 12s, which is the lowest level you can really make money at, and the 7.70s barely run (maybe 1 of those for every 4 1/2 12 180), so you should definitely be willing to add other tournaments in your schedule.

Re:Key hands of a 45 peron SNG NEED help...
ummmm.... not quite. A6o w/ 2bbs when folded to on the CO is a monster. Get it in everytime. Hand 2 is the only hand I have an issue with. A8o is a very marginal hand that early. I don't like building a huge pot with A high, even if were IP. Unless you have history with this player, I'd either float the flop to steal when he checks the turn or fold. Folding pre wouldn't be bad here either.

Re:Is this just running bad or something else?45man sngs
I 15-tbl tile on a dual setup (22" and 17"). If you're losing confidence in your game you should mix the 3.25s and the 6.50s together in such a way where you don't know what stakes each table is. That way you can focus on making the correct decisions and you won't fake yourself out by worrying too much about the stake level. 1200 is more than enough to play the 6.50s, so once you've gotten a bunch under your belt and feel confident in them you can move up to play them exclusively.

Re:Is this just running bad or something else?45man sngs
SS has you playing 249 games at the 6.50-12 level 45 man tournaments. Running at -21% over that small of a sample size is completely standard. Look up any of the regulars in these (myself, PEPIV, frostbrn, ALBINAS, Wickss79, Gimmidaloot7, Autosurff, etc.) and you will see break-even stretches up to around 1,000 games from nearly every single one of us. The key is to keep evaluating your play and keep making good push/fold decisions.

Re:LONG My story: From broke and sleeping on the bench at the rio to chip leader of the main event to drugs and back again
As if WI didn't have a bad enough rep as it is. There are soooo many people here who think they are "pros" who have no clue (well, I guess that happens everywhere). I mean, if OP is happy, then good for him, but please let our state's rep flounder on its own.

Re:$15?
Just want to reiterate what's been said, DO NOT play tournaments above 10%. Even though all of these are easily beatable because of how bad people play, you'd be much better off playing the no-rake/10% rake games seeing how that ups your ROI 10% automatically. I suggest the 1.10 turbo 45-man, learn to nit it up early, then push/fold late and 45%+ ROI is easily obtainable, plus you'll get a feel for common stack-size spots in the tourney which helps when moving up to the $6.50-$12 range (the best grind-able tournaments on stars, imho).

Re:***Team Competition March $12/180***
Why not' This looks like a reason for me to put more of these in my schedule and try and get a big enough sample size to get an idea of who the strong spots at any given table are. It might even motivate me to put in the volume I should be putting in :]

Re:best HUD for grinding SNG's?
huds, at least at low stakes SnGs, help tremendously in identifying the regs. If I see a 10/7 over 100+ hands shove 8bbs from the SB I'll be much more likely to call lighter than the same situation with a 30/10. NOTE: this is turbos, obviously, where all the regs are strictly playing push-fold, meaning they open infrequently early but always are raising, and then are restealing some in the right spots but otherwise getting it in w/ FE or good hands. This is just to say that not many good push-fold players are playing 30/10 or such, and that its safe to adjust your ranges accordingly. In ...

Clearing Carbon Poker Deposit Bonus
So I was looking at different places I could get rakeback in the US, seeing how I'm playing on Stars right now and had an FTP account before I knew about RB, and I stumbled upon an offer of 150% up to $1000 on Carbon for initial deposit. Right now I grind MTT SnGs between 6.50-16, but I have experience w/ cash (since I've heard the tournament volume there is lacking) and the $1500 + whatever I make + Rakeback sounds awfully tempting. So the question is, could anyone enlighten me on how difficult it is to clear this bonus' Say I 4-tabled 50NL for 5-6 hours a day, would I be able to ...

Re:2/5 NL live hand advice
I guess people are saying this because they think only Qxh, Kxh, or Axh are paying off a raise here, but I just don't see a smaller flush like 67h etc. folding and I see two-pair/sets paying off the raise at least 20% of the time. I guess I like going for max value, but I see this as a shove as played.

Re:2/5 NL live hand advice
As played I can't see not raising the river. You're hand is seriously under-represented and it's almost always the best hand, since none of the 4-flushes hit and the board didn't pair. In terms of what you raise on river, I would think that if he's calling say $200 more he'd probably call off his whole stack. I shove here and expect to get called by some Ax hands, a set, and lower flushes. You've played your hand super-slow to this point and if the villain is competent he'll notice how odd your line is when you shove. I'd guess he has A8/A5/A3 w/ Ah, or ...

Re:Line-check $12 45-man
fyi 5-betting means a different thing than raising 5x :] I base my raises on table position. 1st 2 rounds I 5x from UTG & UTG+1 and 4x from all others. Then I 4x from the first two and 3x from others, then around 100-200 I 3x from the first two and 2.5x from the others. I'd raise AA 5x here as well as 99, and I only sometimes raise 88-TT instead of limping.

Well played. Maybe make it 200 instead of 160, fwiw I do 4x + limpers at this level, but it's really a matter of preference. Random villains will often iso-lead the flop if they hit any part of it. He hit a set, oh well. Fire up another.
