Re(1): Two Hands Against That Luckbox BeL0WaB0Ve On the 2nd hand you're not calling here. I think 23 BB's is too much to shove, though. I'd make it 5400 with position on him and see what he does there. If he shoves you can make the decision of whether or not you call off with AK - but against beL0w, I probably would. Re(1): Hand from 4/180, advice plz Pre, a three-bet all-in is fine but I'm pretty worried about that minraise if he's been quiet. Then again if you've been raising often and you think he is capable of noticing that, shoving is good. On the flop I'm probably not calling given your read. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(7): *Serious Discussion* BeL0W's style in NLHE MTTs LOL he made a read - why would he air that out on P5's' I think Zpaceman should keep posting, because this thread is one of the better ones I've seen in PD. Another thing - I respect both styles, and both plays make sense (though there are some different scenarios that could have occurred that would have also made sense). Obv Below's k10 call OOP is not standard, and I'm assuming he was trying to represent more strength by check raising all-in rather than straight jamming the flop. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Are you in a fraternity? i was a sig pi at Rutgers. we lost our charter when a massive brawl occurred outside another frat, and our frat's name was thrown into the mud because a few of the guys were there backing up the wrestling team. i never thought 10 guys could drink an entire keg in 2.5 hours, but fuck we did it. Re(2): Online Poker And The Isolation Booth (long) This guy hit it on the head. Get used to not having something to do all the time, because that's the real world. As far as the isolation booth, it is what you make it. Obviously if you're playing cash games, you're not committed as far as time goes. Play until you feel tired of playing, and stop. Go do something else - anything. You'll soon notice that it isn't poker that is making you isolated, it is your viewpoint. College is easy to handle because everything is there for you, but in the real world, you actually have to go out and get what you want. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): kickbacks from casinos to Bill Frist There was definitely some shady activity, but I think the main reason the bill was attached was that the Republicans needed a last-ditched effort to make sure the election wouldn't completely annihilate their congressional stronghold. Re(1): Theoretical question... What is your "shoving" range in a spot like this? 13 BB's isn't desperation, so I'd probably shove 9s+, AQ+. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(8): Top sng players , please help? i agree, though the caller should have just shoved instead of making it 600, i believe that a shove is a spew based if we have some kind of idea that this guy isn't all that knowledgeable about bubble play. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): Awful Call Uglyowl is risking about $52 of EV to get about $81. He needs about 63-64%. If he can put Bill on a random hand, the call is close but fine, as AJ is about 64% against a completely random hand. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): One theory about the "lack" of fish that makes it hard to cash in sitngo's Poker is a game of strategy and analyzation. There has been much discussion of the 'standard' SNG strategy of tight early, loosen up later. Obviously this strategy is only profitable when most players are not playing this way, but we have seen many players learn this way to play and use it almost exclusively. The point I'm trying to make is that the online poker world is a constantly evolving system. For every strategy there is a counter-strategy that top minds will employ in order to stay ahead of the game. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Cash game interesing hand You said it was the first time he's played back at you post-flop, and he check raised all-in giving you incredible odds to call. I'd say there is a good chance that he's got a king here, but the other hands in a loose player's range here that probably make it a call. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): So I'm Taking the Plunge... You CAN go to college later on in life...and often, that decision is better than the one that says you should stay in college now with mediocre results. Adults usually take to college work better, as they generally handle responsiblity better than 20 year old kids. Play poker while you can, because a.) you can play, b.) you have good money management skills, and c.) you're so young that even if this doesn't work out, you're still going to have a lot of time and potential ahead of you. Re(1): Im really pissed with my self about how i played...Do I try to avoid coinflips?? i don't mind taking coinflips, but i usually like to get there preflop with a.) fold equity and b.) a 5 card hand if i'm shoving/using my equity. with jacks, you call pre and lead if he checks the flop, if he RRs you're obv done (this is in a vacuum). if he leads the flop, you shove it. Re(1): out of the box idea...does this make sense!! You're saying they're calling stations, but with the odds they are getting off of your push they don't need to be in order to call you. So exxagerating the estimate, let's say they call you 100% of the time. Each time, you're getting 3.5-1 on your money as a 58% favorite. I don't like the tournament life argument, because if you fold you're probably still pushing any time you're going to enter a pot due to the size of your stack. Even with your fold equity in these situations, they are still without comparison to the 58% chance that you will have 7100 chips at the end of this hand. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
