Anyone heard of the water dumping scam?
Or they could just not waste water. Pretty sure they can find someone willing to trade $1 in foodstamps for a couple of coins, without all the trouble. or..... just buy actual shit people use and resell it. Pretty sure you're gonna make more than $.05.

Good question. I would say experience would be the number one reason, but eventually somewhere down the line I want to cook. I've always had the passion for cooking, and I feel like without a culinary background schoolwise or experience, dishwashing or food prep is where I would need to start off. Something similar to what you did. I know it won't be easy, and I do not mind the hard work. So I am hoping this is what will get me started. If you dont mind, can you tell me how long you were dishwashing for before you moved along and so forth. Love to hear a little about your experience, as ...

lol. Should have stated I have a regular 9-5 job. This is more of a part time job. Definitely have working experience in NYC, just not in the food/restaurant industry. And yeah $7/hr is pretty difficult to live off of in NYC. Kinda off topic, but here's why I think that is....(more of a petty rant) .5 liter bottled water- average price of $1.25- $2.50/bottle Plain slice of pizza (except the $1.00 per slice places which serves smaller slices)- $2.25 and up. Street vendor hot dogs- $1.75 and up. "Okay and safe enough area" 1 br apartment in Manhattan or in some of the more accessible ...

FML- wrote a reply, then somehow the whole thing got deleted. lol For the shift I am applying for (6pm-12am), I am hoping I can do at least 5-6 deliveries and get $2-$3 in tip per delivery which would raise my hourly wage to about $6-$7 an hour which isn't that bad considering I applied for this job to gain some experience. The only downside to this is and I have my fingers crossed, that there aren't too many slow nites. Phone doesn't ring, ZERO deliveries, which would suck. At the same time, I hope I don't spend my whole shift doing deliveries cause I really want to learn some of the in ...

Food industry question (salary related)
I am trying to get a part time job in the restaurant/food industry in NYC. I went for a quick interview today at a local takeout joint. They are offering me $4 an hour plus tips. I would be helping out in the kitchen with some dishwashing, some food prep and deliveries where I will earn my tips. Does that sound right''' Anybody with any kind of info that they can share would be greatly appreciated. Edit- Also in NYC- minimum wage is $7.25 an hr, but Im assuming for the restaurant industry it is totally different, rite'' Thanks!!!

lol, level'' There is no way Odom or Gasol is >>>>> over Ellis. At least not this year. Monta is clearly the go to guy of a very young team, and they are only getting better and putting up a challenge every nite. The FAKERS on the other hand are heading in the wrong direction. Odom and Gasol CAN NOT carry a team, and they are clearly not making the team better. And like someone mentioned earlier LaMarcus should also be in. There is absolutely no reason Gasol is on there before LaMarcus and Ellis.

Someone please explain to me how Monta Ellis is not an allstar. Guy averages 25 pts, 3.5 boards, and 5.5 assists. And at this point of the year, they have almost as many wins as they did all of last season. Someone please remove Gasol's hairy ass and Yao off that roster.
