Re(6): what is this technique called?
I think blocker bets just ask to be reraised but they work sometimes... Negreneau wrote a great cardplayer column about this a while ago. The article was called "The weak lead", and it is about him supplying a weak lead into Huck Seed on purpose, so that he will reraise him, and negreanu can make tough call and win a lot of chips on a marginal hand. So, the blocker bet can be used for many different purposes, against players on the next level, it may be good to throw them the rope to reraise your blocker bet. Anyways, danny n explains it better than me, so- Part 1 Part 2

Re(2): ITM & ROI in MTT's
Id say that an ITM of 15-20% for MTTs is right where u need to be. Anything above 20% ITM is exceptional. But also keep in mind, that above 20% ITM may mean u are just squeaking into the money more, and a less than 15% ITM is not a disaster either. In fact, someone with 12% ITM may be more profitable than someone who has 27% ITM, because they are reaching the top money spots (1-3) more often. For ROI, i think anything above 50% is good enough, i mean that will surely be quite profitable. Top players have ROI well above 100%. But again this number is not a good measure by itself. For ...

Re(5): stealurmoney
Despite his winnings and TLBs, steal is basically a breakeven player in stars MTTs. Winnings on pokerdb and TLBs are NOT direct indicators of PROFIT. So my guess is he dont got the scratch for the $500 buyin, although im sure he could satellite in with the million FPPs he must have.

Re(5): anyone see Jarhead yet?
Bah. Jarhead rocked. The reason there is not lots of action is cuz that is the point, most of it was the waiting. If u like MOVIES u will like this, very well done. The shots on the desert are sick, visually very cool. If u liked Sam Mendes other movies u will like this. And keep in mind, this is based on that dudes actual experiences, so if u say the ending was anticlimactic, i mean that is what really happend, so what. I def recommend seeing this flick, but dont expect to see Platoon cuz this is not about Vietnam.

Re(1): OMFG i have the worst rebuy table in HISTORY!
Going all in pre with rags on like the first hand will usually get a table loose, especially if u win the hand. And if not, even the tightest tables loosen up after the first half hr.

Borgata Tournys
Anyone ever play the daily $175+25 tournament at the Borgata' Im thinking of heading up there tonight to play, and the structure of the tourny seems pretty good. Just wondering if anyones ever playd this tourny, and could tell me a little about it. Such as how many people usually show up, how early would i need to get there to register, whats the competition like, anything at all. Thanks.

Re(2): Pot Limit Question?
Thank you Davio, but my question is only about pot limit holdem, not NL. I agree in NL, I would usually make a big raise to win the pot right there, since i will be out of position. This is exacly my point though, is that in pot limit, if it is an unraised pot, there is usually not enough money to legally put in a "nice" raise. BDluss- Thats a very good point about committing myself preflop if possible, and just moving whatever the flop. And also about deep stacks-try for a limp and then reraise. I think this is a great solution to my problem, a way to get all my chips in pre with the best ...

Pot Limit Question?
I have a lot of trouble (and find I bust the most in pot limit multis, holdem and omaha) when i wake up with a big hand, but not a made hand, in the blinds. For example, playing AK from the blinds in holdem or AAxx in omaha. Mostly this applys to situations with either one limper before the blinds, or simply a little blind-big blind confrontation with no other players in the pot. The key factor is that there is not enough money in the pot for u to be able to raise them out or shut them out of the pot, but ur hand seems too good not to raise. So u are forced to play a "big" but dangerous hand ...

Re(1): Advice please!
Absolutely nothing u can do about this. You played it perfectly, and had a tough beat. Your stack is about 20 BBs, pretty short for this stage of the tourny, so after raising to 200 preflop there is no way youre getting off this unless flop has ace or king and there is a flurry of action between the first two players. Flop all unders, its a done deal,gl. With your stack, if i get a hand like QQ, im thinking im gonna either double up or bust out. Plenty of other multis going on, if someone can crack my hand.

Re(3): READ ME
Well, where to start. There are many differences between online play and live play that may be affecting your results. The problem could possibly lie in the different structures of the tournys', meaning the blinds are often much bigger in online tournys relative chip stacks and they increase quicker than live tournys. Perhaps u r not gambling enuff' Often times it is correct to take a gamble or semibluff more in order to get a big chip stack in online tournaments. If u play too tight and dont take enough chances u will find urself shortstacked and often only creep into the money if at ...

Re(1): Hand Histories.... Please Help
There is usually a link at the top left or right corner (stars, party), that says something like "this hand 178293745467393". Click that and u can access HHs in real time, also helpful to see peoples hands who have called on the river, but mucked. U can also request HHs for entire tournaments, on stars it is under the requests tab in the main lobby.

Lol N 82, bparis is the tightest player i have ever playd with. I have playd many tournys with him, and often use his name as a verb (meaning to fold preflop) to get a rise out of him. This HH makes me happy. And congrats to zee, gg man.

Re(1): Extracting w/ quads
Hey supertick, welcome to the boards. Its always tough to extract with quads. Its a great hand, but frankly not a very profitable one. I agree with you that ur opponent had an ace, and in this instance made a really good/tough laydown. I like ur flop bet and check on the turn. I guess the best way to get paid on this one is to check-call the turn, and then u could even lead all in on the river. This would be easier to call for your opponent, but i think the best way is to check-call the turn and then lead a reasonable bet on the river. That is sure to get called if ur opponent has an A. And ...
