2012 Marathon/Half/10K/5K Race training thread Just started running after not exercising at all since high school (I'm now 22). Went from not being able to run for more than a minute straight, which is absolutely pathetic, to being able to run two or so miles a few days every week. Still pretty pathetic but it's a start. I'm hoping to build it up to being able to run a half marathon with a co-worker in a bit over a half a year, but I think that may be too steep of a goal. Posted in: Off Topic |

I was abducted by Aliens last night I've had this happen quite a few times, and most times it happens after I've taken a nap on the couch. I've never heard voices or anything, but I always feel like there is some "presence" lingering around. I can't talk or move which is scary, but the worst part is breathing. If my face happens to be pillow first, it feels like I can't breathe; so I'm struggling for air while "paralyzed" and I can't call for help. IT SUCKS. Posted in: Off Topic |

How to negotiate raises when being promoted I don't want to get into details, but it's a nice restaurant where tipping is discouraged, and thus we get paid $8 for front of the house. I guess my main incentive to accepting the job is the title (for future reference), but the extra money is obviously nice.. Thanks for all of the responses - even the Waiting reference. This past month I was asked if I wanted to take a supervisor position, which I gladly accepted. Money was not mentioned a single time. I hadn't brought it up yet since I was still in the training process and I wasn't really worried about it. I recently got my paycheck (which indicates the pay rate), and I was given a $1 raise ($9/hr). For reference, outside hires for back of the house (cook) start at $9, and outside hires for management positions is around $10-$12 (based on talking to other managers). [Sick ...
