Re(1): What was CardPlayer magazine thinking? I see where you are coming from Ice and agree. The problem might be that *most* poker players / gamblers do NOT share your values. And that cover sells to those with a different set of values. I think many of the responses in this thread are a good representation of *most* poker players’ value set….. Ultimately, that is way Vegas adopted the "What happens here, stays here" slogan…..that is part of *most* poker players/ gamblers value set. Re(1): Problem getting money on Mansion WIRE the money from your bank. That will solve all your problems. You can wire ANY amount to neteller or mansion - NO caps. I opened a NEW neteller account Thursday. Wired the money on Friday to Neteller. Money in my Neteller account on Monday 7am. Called Neteller to remove the "first deposit hold" at 9am. Netellerd $1,200 to mansion. Placed the bet by ~noon. Lost $50 on video poker by ~1pm....LOL. You still have time. A wire will cost you ~$20 from YOUR bank but the $$$ will be there the same day or the next at the latest. I recomend you wire to neteller not mansion. The mansion guys are ... Get with Pacific Poker – hopefully they can find it Sounds like you don’t think it’s your friend(s) that you gave your PW to….that’s good…so I’ll leave out the most common cause…giving away your password. So it’s one of a couple things in the order I think most likely: 1) Common password – you used the same password for multiple sites/forums etc and someone found one and jacked ya – use different passwords for all sites especially sites that involve $$$$. Re(1): My PartyPoker Account Was Hacked - Be Careful Sorry to read about your loss. At the end of the day there are only a coulple of ways someone can get your password and YOU can stop them all. Search the forum on Hack(ed), trojan and/or Password and you will find some good advice on how to avoid it in the future. And not to be too much of a nit but whoever did this probably didn’t hack party poker, they most likely (99.9999% of the time) stole your password somehow. (Trojan, common passwords for multiple sites/forums, etc) I think the distinction is important so others don’t feel helpless – a player can’t stop a “hacker” but a player ... Re(1): Deal making is bad for the game I think the bottom line is “theoldman” doesn’t like that his entertainment of watching/railing poker does not end like on TV. I think the tile of “Deal making is bad for the game” only makes sense when put in the context of entertainment. If the title read “Deal making is not fun for viewers” I would agree…..to some degree. Otherwise I think deal making is a fundamental part of the game for those that play for profit.(and understand variance, equity, game structure, etc) If a player plays for ego or the “kill” then chopping *maynot* make sense for him…as he is not there for the profit. Just stop downloading crap (file sharing programs, "free" anything that shouldn't be free, extra smilies, screen savers, walpapers, "cracked" software,....) from the internet. Also stop going to p0rn sites. (or use firefox if you can't find the real thing or afford a playb0y) Read this and it will help with the pop ups etc. in the future. / of all the programs they list adAware, Spybot, and CCleaner are the ones to get and all you need. Re(1): computer runs to slow to multitable... You have enough computer and RAM to run the programs you describe. Clean up your system first, then evaluate if you need any more RAM. This will take some effort and time but if you do it all you will be very happy with the end results. Read and do this first(multi page): / Then read & do this(multi page): / All the programs they recommend are great! The CCleaner rocks. On the spyware front I use Ad Aware and Spy Bot search and destroy. Lastly defrag your hard drive! They don't want to tell you but you would be flagged as part of their money laundering/credit card theft “algorithm”. Not that you were laundering/stealing but that is why flag #1. Something is up with your buddy that is flag #2. You have a high affinity score with your buddy because of transfers and/or playing together.
