Re(2): Filing Taxes As A "Professional Gambler"? I filed pro last year as upwards of 80% of my personal income came from poker. I found myself a local CPA and told them what I do and let them instruct me on how to proceed. Basically, my non poker stuff was filed the same as always, and the poker portion was filed as a schedule C(i believe), much like any home business. A good tax professional should be able to tell you what you can and cannot deduct along with what records you need to keep. I took tax courses in business school, but it was well worth the few hundred it cost me to let someone more experienced handle it. If your poker income ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): Public apology to Dinhjo VV sad to read posts like this. FWIW I dont think hutty is making this up as any sort of scam...guy's been around a while. To the victim....you are taking this all much better than most people would and seem like a genuinely good person. Sounds like you need to work on your password creativity though. GL getting your money back. As for all the talk of multiaccounting etc.....anyone who does it is cheating and most of them will probably never get caught. Its makes it even more dissapointing to see players who are very successful overall cheating the system. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): remember the kid who robbed a bank "because of online poker"? Sigh.......no matter what the government decides to ban next the world will always be full of holes for morons to walk into. They need to stop trying to protect us from ourselves and focus more on trying to protect honest people from criminals. I've known plenty of kids who ran themselves into huge debt by drinking too much while in college and constantly charging a life they could not afford onto credit cards. The ones that were taught an ounce of common sense either got jobs or stopped over spending and the ones who didnt change eventually ended up back home broke. (none that i know robbed ... Last Chaos free addictive online game / Wondering if any other p5ers besides me and the one who introduced me to it play. Its really 100% free which is great bc im not a pc gamer and never try this kind of game before. Also its been good for my tilt factor....since I can jump from stars to here fast and kill stuff. Its def. fun especially if all your money is "invested" in poker:-) Post here if you play perhaps we can slaughter things together. Jeremy Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(7): CK Hua is a cheater If the floor agreed that Mr. Hua was left to act and had indeed not said "call" then how is the exposed hand not dead. I mean if all rules were being strictly enforced, dosent exposing a hand before everyone acts kill that hand regardless of whether or the player exposing the hand is allin' Rules are different everywhere, but this seems like a chicken-shit compromise of a decision by the floor. Re(1): Dealer discussing dealers Great post, though I'm not a dealer, I've played in many diffent casinos, and have friends who deal. When I went to Las Vegas for the first time here recently I was amazed at the difference in skill and professionalism between the dealers in some of the more noteable pokerrooms. I managed to play in most of the rooms on the strip and a few in the older part in town and the size/notoriety of the room seemed to have no effect on the quality of dealers. I played tourneys at many different places, but when I play cash, the quality of the dealers and floorstaff are an important factor with ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Correct call.... The call was correct on any flop with that low texture after you've put 1/4 of your stack in preflop. Honestly I lean towards shoving that flop vs check calling though, as you give yourself a chance to take the pot without having to dodge the overcards, since that is your read.
