Re:Moorman gets in 235bb's pre with AQ....WAT It is Below and he can't help himself. He certainly makes a lot of moves that are not +EV and enters a lot of tournys where he is not +EV. If you're Moorman in this spot you just can't fold. Why' Because your soul would be crushed to fold and be shown a bluff or to fold and not be shown it, but to be thinking about whether it was a bluff and letting it eat at you. As such, calling is the lesser of two evils. If every player had Moorman's balls, Below would be a losing player. He only manages to eke out big scores here and there from the number of weak-tight players who fall ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Moorman gets in 235bb's pre with AQ....WAT Exactly, that was my point about it being the bubble which some people who perhaps dont know how below plays took the wrong way. It is in the nature of his game to always be more inclined to bluff for big stacks close to the bubble than at other times. Oh and good times getting involved in fun thread too ;-) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Moorman gets in 235bb's pre with AQ....WAT well done chris. this has brightened up an otherwise miserable night (just finished 120th of 27k+ in the 5R for a risible amount of money) incidentally, regarding the hand, it was very close to the bubble and, as such, is standard versus below's range imo Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Where is The Omaholic?? Actually, how could i KNOW that there was no chip dumping/collusion in tournys WITHOUT posting my question' Dumb or not I'm not "in the know" on these things, so my only avenue is to ask questions in public fora. Additionally, I have always said and posted multiple times in many threads that I believe that sheets/bax run a clean ship. Re:Where is The Omaholic?? ok there are bits and pieces of this jigsaw here and there, but the bottom line may be (= speculation, not knowledge) that the omaholic was involved in some eloborate cheating scheme from his backers (the infamous empire of sheets+bax). others presently unknown to me, but likely known to people "in the know" are involved and sheets is naturally "livid" to the extent that he makes a post on 2+2 trying to ruin the life of a totally innocent guy that he accidentally sent money to (when trying to send money to apparently busto mr spewtastic and p5s hero player Kevin Saul ... Re:Question About Your 1st "Big" Tournie Win Well, I started playing MTTs on Paradise Poker on 19 Oct 05. I had never played MTTs before and barely knew the rules of NLHE. I was so tilted that I failed to cash in my first two and then only mini-cashed in the $300 buy-in "Atlantic" tournament (such an easy field too). Anyway, it was getting frustrating running so bad, but on my 5th try I finally cracked it and won the "Playa" $100 buy-in after an excrutiating 9 days of my poker career. 19-Oct-05Dise100022-Oct-05Dise10022-Oct-05Dise30074528-Oct-05Dise120030R28-Oct-05Dise1003053 Posted in: Poker Discussion |

I bubbled JJprodigy in Aussie Millions Main Event live satty today! I entered the Aussie Millions Super-Shot satellite today feeling good and ready to win my way into the Main Event. I soon noticed the infamous JJprodigy at another table. Funny thing was he kept looking behind himself, over his shoulder, kinda in my direction, but I thought nothing of it. Sorel Mizzi was also in it, but he busted early and as I ground my way through the day I kept getting seated at the table behind JJ, but never with him, even when we got down to 2 tables, with 11 seats awarded, I was kept away from him and thought we'd make it all the way without ever playing together. ... Re:successful player honestly soliciting hand advice (3 hands, kinda long, thx) As you said in one of your responses stack size awareness is a key skill late in tournys. Unfortunately you don't seem to have taken account of this for hands 1 and 3. Hand 1 is a clear fold versus a 13BB UTG shove. Not even close. Hand 2 is fine if you have post-flop skills. All those saying fold because it is T4 must be the type of players who reraise with JJ because they're afraid to play a flop with it. Re:Sunday 100R Final Table versus TherookieQQ9... OK results time... As many have suggested the idea that I should treat a small reraise from someone with 18BBs any different than a shove is nonsense. He is effectively all-in and his previous history has demonstrated that this is his standard play here when reraising with <20BBs. As such I just have to construct a reraise range for him and see if my ATo is in good shape versus that range. As I have said already, the idea that he doesn't reraise here with any pair or a lot of broadway combos, especially suited combos, is also nonsense. Faced with a button raise and holding QJs are ... Re:Sunday 100R Final Table versus TherookieQQ9... From a pot odds perspective, it is a 465k bet for a pot of 1119k (assuming he never folds when we shove), so we need 41.5% equity. I think his range can be somewhat looser than that, e.g.: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 45.715% 41.70% 04.01% 1490936376 143523048.00 { ATo } Hand 1: 54.285% 50.27% 04.01% 1797308280 143523048.00 { 22+, A8s+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, A8o+, KQo } For my equity to be below 41.5% I need to make his range: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 41.361% 35.83% 05.53% 905595612 139736352.00 { ATo } Hand 1: 58.639% 53.11% 05.53% 1342292388 139736352.00 { 55+, ... Re:Sunday 100R Final Table versus TherookieQQ9... Yes, we have history and this may play into our actions here. In the final few tables of a $1K Venetian Deepstack tourny this summer I shoved a perfect reraise stack over a MP raise from the SB with Q6 (I think) and Rookie woke up with AK in the BB and I sucked-out a massive pot, propelling me to the FT and him on his way out of the tourny. He was visibly upset about this at the time, his crew subsequently criticized my play in that tournament (I finished 8th when I made one reshove too many) and one of his railers had even confirmed in the chat earlier on in this tourny that he was out to ... If he simply jams here I snap call without a second thought, but by 3-betting small, I immediately think he is setting a trap, but isn't that too obvious' First level thinking: It is a trap = fold Second level thinking: He thinks I will perceive his small reraise as strength and is therefore making this play with a weak hand = shove Third level thinking: He thinks that I will perceive the obvious trap as too obvious and therefore read it as weak, so he is really doing this with a strong hand to deceive me = fold So which level ... Sunday 100R Final Table versus TherookieQQ9... OK, given the recent quality PD threads, such as the BeL0Wab0Ve thread in a similar spot to this one, I am going to give P5s another go for a serious strategy discussion. This is the Final Table of the big Sunday 300K GTD $100 Rebuy.
