Re:The Well: Mig.com
You mentioned that it is important for a backee to have played a "large volume". What would you consider to be a large volume when deciding whether to back a player' Thanks for the well.

Re:My GF Broke Up with me because I won the Sunday Million - POKER LIFE DISCUSSION
Sorry about your irrational and judgemental ex. i know u said that you 2 were great together but I think you deserve someone who is willing to respect and understand your profession. If done right poker can be great for a relationship. You'll find somebody that can appreciate that. Congrats on your win bro! You will find an ambitious female that digs the money you can make at the tables as well as the flexibillity you bring to the relationship. gl man

Re:Hand from the $100R bubble
good advice and explanation adam_mc. I would shove or fold. They are are the best 2 options imo and it is completely player dependent. If he is unknown and seemed tight i would probably fold. I dont play the 100r but in most higher buyins this is usually a shove for me. tough spot though

Re:Waco, what do you think about this?
cosign on ozzies first post. imo - blocking bets are a bad idea against thinking players. The majority of mid-higher stakes mtt players are not thinking players. Also, the blocking bet can always be renamed "a thin value bet with intention of folding to a raise" Pen is right on when he says that if you find yourself wanting to make too many of these bets you probably have some prflop leaks to plug. Folding QJs in that spot is often correct but if the opener plays poorly the call in that spot can certainly show longterm profit.

Re:full tilt account hacked..... what can i do to contact them?
thanks for that very helpful reply. I just received an email back from them and they have temporarily suspended the account and intructed me how to regain control of it. They actually responded fairly quickly. I still think they should have a phone # but they did a very good job at handling the situation. Thank you FTP!

Re(9): Interesting Strategy Discussion Questions Part 2
shoving 22 from the small blind w/20 bb is unexploitably profitable. u could turn ur hand face up and allow ur oppenet to play perfectly against u every time and still show a small profit. I dont really see any valid argument for playing this hand any other way. Raise folding in todays game is CLEARLY unprofitable. raise calling is fine i suppose but much higher variance than just open shoving. Limp reraise is probably best if bb is aggro. but most thinking players are aware of this on ur stack and wont raise fold that often. If the player is incredibly weak its probable not worth taking the ...

Re(7): A few interesting strategy questions...
If it is so rare that 16 BB shoves ever show u anything worse that A2 then wouldnt raise folding become correct' Of course i mean raising ne2 for ur hand has no value except that there is one less ace in the deck. Its considerably less than half the time that 2 random hands will have one good enough to move in if what u say is true. Ultimately the correct answer is player dependent like any question worth discussing, but raise folding against lots of players will show a profit.

Re(2): Interesting hand from Full Tilt 1K
I love poker. I love that a very intelligent and accomplished player like Dyz can make what to me is a sooooooooooo clearly foolish play. And also provide an explanation that is he has clearly thought about and is once again soooooooooooo obviously wrong. Poker is one great game. 100% ROI over 5K mtts is very impressive. Shoving here is just so bad it blows my mind

Re(3): Final Table Buble...what is your play here?
I think your shove here is fine. Has to be a wining play if he raises here as often as you say he does. Folding not an option. either do the old Go and Go or call and check shove on lots of flop and maybe check fold a few of them. I think I shove here with the information you have. dont shove 35bb+ preflop very often though. but here it is your lowest variance +ev play

Re(1): Playing on a combined bankroll ?
If you have TOTALL trust in your friends playing abillity and character then swapping halves in larger buyin tournaments that you are not individually roled for can be a good business decision. no need to combine bankrolls. just sign up for the same tourney and split your winnings down the middle for tournaments your individual bankrolls cant handle but ur combine bankroll can. The ev is the same in the long run for both of u but variance is less in the short run. Good luck and ud better trust him.

Re(2): Cutting Down on Buyins & How to Play Larger Fields
my advice on playing large buyin smaller stakes tourneys- donkeys that finally go deep in these tourneys typically play a very scared endgame. db ur opponetts late. (they will usually be terrible) play accordingly.

Re(5): Perhaps I need to be educated.
dude, ur not good. the play was bad. even i u have superhuman power and u can somehow know his range is all A rag hands. it would still be nearly impossible to play the hand for a profit with this preflop line. IT is just bad. this is why sct can call u bad from just one hand. on another note, i always lol when people say i knew he was we so i knew he didnt have and overpair. Are u seriously saying that dyz would not make this same raise with 88. Just because you know someone is capable of raising u light in a situation only means there are more hands in his range, it doesnt mean he never ...

Re(3): A Difference Between Low Stakes MTT's and High Stakes MTT's
I THINK ARI MEANS THAT U SHOULD LOOK FOR FOLD EQUITY IN LATE STAGES OF SMALL BUYIN MTTS. FIELDS ARE OFTEN LARGE AND MOST PLAYERS PLAY MUCH TOO TIGHT LATE. DONT WAIT TILL U LOSE AN 80/20. LOOK TO PICK UP FREE CHIPS AND HOPE TO WIN A COUPLE 40/60S WITH THE FREE CHIPS U PICK UP, (IF U EVER GET CALLED) IF U LOSE THEM, THEN GO RIGHT BACK TO WORK LOOKING FOR FREE CHIPS. IF U BUST, SIGN UP FOR MORE TOURNEYS AND PLAY TIGHT FOR 3 HOURS SO U CAN TRY AND RUN OVER SOME MORE NOOBS LATE. i DEFINETELLY AGREE WITH ARI THAT IT IS MUCH EASIER TO RUN OVER SMALL BUYINS THAT LARGER ONES.

cant give u cash game graphs. that i know from cash gaming friends. but i know that i never lost for a 30 hour sample in a year and a half 8 tabling 11 and 22 sngos. guess i was just delusional though. lol. Im also delusional enough to have not worked a job in over three years. 8 months playing exclusively mtts and stil no losing months. one slight loss over 2 weeks. not playing more than 30 hour weeks. If u play lots of tables and play low u can make a comfortable and low stress living. does not have to have all the drawbacks assassinato listed. I repeat that his article is one of the best ...

Re(4): Assassinato Article
dhubermax- lol at the best cash game players in the world could easily be stuck after several months playing 12 hour weeks. maybe 4 tabling 25/50. but 8 tabling 1/2 nl or low sngos a very good player could go years without losing over 25 hour sample. Win rates are high enough to travel like bstern and i think he has every bit as correct an approach to the game as assassinato. GREAT article btw. very immature of u to critisize a professional for not playing high enough volume. i respect ne1 who has the talent to win consistently but chooses use it to live how they want too.
