JAKoon1985 Runner-Up in WSOP $3K Heads-Up NLHE/PLO
The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals of Event #3 of the 2012 World Series of Poker (WSOP) a $3,000 Heads-Up No Limit Hold'em/Pot Limit Omaha tournament, panned out at the Rio in Las Vegas on Thursday. Leif Force, who finished 11th in the Main Event in 2006 for $1.1 million, took home the gold bracelet in Event #3 this year and collected another $207,000. He's now up to nearly $1.6 million in career WSOP earnings after beating Jason JAKoon1985 Koon (pictured) heads-up.

Big Huni Scoops Third PocketFives Triple Crown
It took PocketFives member Chris Big Huni Hunichen (pictured) all of three days to score his third online poker Triple Crown. On May 15th, he knocked out the first two legs by winning the $109 No Limit Hold'em Turbo on PokerStars as well as the $40,000 Guaranteed Super Tuesday on iPoker for a combined haul of $20,000. Then, three days later, victory was his in a $100 tournament on Ongame for $3,100. He's one of eight Triple Crown winners we've had in May and sat down with PocketFives to recap his big week.

Blackk Recaps 888 Poker Sunday Challenge Win
Earlier this month, Russia's Alexandr Blackk Trofimov (pictured) continued his assault on the upper echelons of the PocketFives Online Poker Rankings by taking down the 888 Poker Sunday Challenge. The $90 buy-in, one rebuy tournament runs once per week on Sundays, has a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool, and shelled out a first place prize of $23,000. He stands at #31 worldwide after being as high as #24 earlier this year.

ryanghall Captures $2 Million Cash Badge
It's not easy being Ryan ryanghall Hall (pictured). The Canadian online poker player from Ontario had to be a bounty in today's PocketFives Open on WPT Poker. Players were gunning for him left and right and ultimately Ireland's gerryf23 bounced him from the $11 buy-in community event. He was invited to be a bounty in the first place in celebration of a brand new graphic in his PocketFives profile, the $2 million cash badge, which he officially scored on May 15.

Early Sunday morning, longtime PocketFives member Shaun shaundeeb Deeb (pictured) captured his fifth PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) title, extending his own record for the most ever. Shaun Deeb Picks Up Second 2012 SCOOP Stud Title
The 2012 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker, or SCOOP, has been very kind to longtime PocketFives member Shaun shaundeeb Deeb (pictured). In the first twenty 2012 SCOOP events, Deeb has recorded not one, but two tournament titles, both in Stud. His latest win came by virtue of taking down the high-stakes version of SCOOP Event #19, $2,100 Triple Stud, for $45,000 on Saturday night, which marked his third career SCOOP victory. Deeb became just the second person ever to win three SCOOP titles.

Finland's tohveli Final Tables Ongame $100K
The April 22nd running of the Ongame $100K was monumental for Finland's Mikael Andersson (pictured), who goes by tohveli here on PocketFives. Not only did he record his largest tracked cash on PocketFives (although he won the same tournament for nearly $30,000 before PocketFives tracked Ongame), but it also meant the first time in a while we can remember interviewing a Finnish online poker player.

Denmark's Troubaduren Final Tables PokerStars Sunday Million
On the third weekend of April, the nation of Denmark rejoiced as Daniel Sorensen (pictured), better known as Troubaduren on PocketFives, final tabled the PokerStars Sunday Million for $112,000. Denmark has been a hotbed for poker as of late, with Mickey mementmori Petersen winning EPT Copenhagen, Frederik BRINK Brink winning EPT Madrid, Jannick Wrang winning EPT Campione, Morten Lihn winning WPT Vienna, and Martin MartinBHansen Hansen winning a PartyPoker Pokerfest event.

The fourth event of PartyPoker's Pokerfest saw over 500 players turn out for a $530 No Limit Hold'em tournament. The $250,000 guarantee was passed by $8,000 and when all was said and done, Denmark's Martin MartinBHansen Hansen (pictured) came away with the win and walked off with $54,000. He didn't stray too far, however, as PocketFives was able to catch up with him to celebrate the big win.

On April 22nd, U.K. player Daniel lucky_scrote Carter (pictured) made his mark on the online poker world. How' Carter chopped the PokerStars Sunday 500 heads-up and walked away with $65,000. As a result, he's achieved his highest position ever in the PocketFives Online Poker Player Rankings at #583 worldwide and is the top dog in all of Gloucestershire. PocketFives Training Instructor Assassinato Wins First Triple Crown
The one-year anniversary of Black Friday meant mixed emotions in the poker community. Many pros are still separated from their bankrolls, but for Alex Assassinato Fitzgerald (pictured), April 15th featured the opening tournament victory of his first Triple Crown. Luck of the Irish: EMSGAWA9 Cracks Top 100 in P5s Rankings
When the latest calculation of the PocketFives Online Poker Player Rankings took place on Wednesday, Ireland's Jono EMSGAWA9 Crute (pictured) popped up at #96. Last weekend, Sweden's Yaya24 came away with the win in the Microgaming €100,000 Guaranteed. The weekly tournament, which takes place on sites like 32Red, drew 485 players in its last go-around and 50 finished in the money. If you've never played in the event, it's a €110 No Limit Hold'em Rebuy, and Yaya24's reward for coming away with the victory in it was €25,000. He bluntly admitted in an exclusive interview with PocketFives, "To win a big Sunday tournament is always a big deal."

Ross RLOG Loggie (pictured) shot up to #99 worldwide in the PocketFives Rankings this week, his highest position ever. The online poker player from the United Kingdom had been rewarded for some stellar play as of late, highlighted by a final table in the PokerStars Super Tuesday in late March. RLOG was certainly super in that $1,000 buy-in tournament, as he pocketed nearly $70,000 for his second place finish. He had taken fourth in the Super Tuesday three weeks prior, so needless to say, it's been a pretty profitable tournament for him.

The PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up takes place every weekend and features a half-million dollar guaranteed prize pool. Last weekend, on March 18th, a parade of 3,280 players showed up, boosting the purse to $656,000, and when all was said and done, Tudor Purice, better known as fbg1919 here on PocketFives, took second place for $76,000. This Romanian poker player lapped $500,000 in tracked cashes in the process.

Denmark's MortenVM Finishes Second in PartyPoker High Roller
Two weeks ago, Morten MortenVM Mortensen (pictured), who hails from Denmark, finished second in the $530 buy-in PartyPoker High Roller for $23,000. The tournament, which is also run on sites like WPT Poker, carries a $100,000 guarantee, which was smashed on that fateful day when 304 players turned out. Poland's Slayer_pol Wins Second Triple Crown
On March 14th, Poland's Slayer_pol took down a $109 buy-in tournament on 888 Poker. While the cash itself was good for $2,400, it also meant his second online poker Triple Crown. In the previous week, he had taken down three $10,000 prize pool tournaments across three sites tracked for the PocketFives Poker Rankings and earned yet another award. In mid-2007, Matt ch0ppy Kay (pictured) signed up for PocketFives. Since then, the Canadian has been on a tear. In the final days of February, PocketFives member Dimitri van Leent (pictured), who is better known as Lion King on our site, took down the 888 Sunday Challenge. And the Newest PocketFives Training Instructor Is... ThaSquirrel
There's a brand new instructor at PocketFives Training, which provides some of the top MTT instruction to the online poker community. Malta's ThaSquirrel (pictured) has joined the fray and recently released a video series that focuses on key hands during the Big $22. The second part of the series was published on Tuesday and covers concepts like bet-sizing, stack sizes, equity, ranges, and hand reading.

In the middle of February, PokerStars took the liberty of running two Sunday Warm-Ups in a single day. With nearly $1.6 million given away between the two tournaments, plenty of PocketFives members threw their hats into the ring, including Parker Talbot (pictured), who affectionately goes by the name tonkaaaa on our site. The month of February was mighty kind to Espen shfourshank Sorlie (pictured), who brought home a pair of Triple Crowns to his home nation of Norway. His first came after winning the PokerStars.fr Minuit Express for $3,100, a $50 buy-in tournament on Ongame for $3,200, and the PartyPoker $10,000 Guaranteed Speed for $4,900. The three wins combined for 388 PLB Points and while most players would take a break, Sorlie did exactly the opposite.

When the most recent update of the PocketFives Online Poker Rankings was released on Wednesday, Romania’s 1banditpanda stood pat at #5 worldwide. He’s been on a tear as of late and, accordingly, has the fourth best PLB tally worldwide to go along with the 11th best Pro Poll score. 1banditpanda has not one, not two, but three Triple Crowns to boot, an award that requires a player to emerge victorious in three $10,000 prize pool tournaments across three sites tracked for the Rankings within a week.

PetjeXL Relives PokerStars TCOOP $109 Cubed Chop
Several members of the PocketFives community made waves during the recently completed PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online Poker, or TCOOP. Representing the Netherlands in the inaugural TCOOP series was Robin PetjeXL van Gils, who was part of a three-way chop of Event #17, a $109 Cubed tournament that featured over 3,300 players.

KJulius10 Breaks Down PokerStars Sunday Million Victory
On February 12th, U.S. nomad Kyle KJulius10 Julius (pictured) came away with a win in the PokerStars Sunday Million. There were actually two Sunday Million tournaments that took place that fateful day, and Julius was rewarded with a bankroll boost of nearly $180,000 for finishing first in the second go-around. The supplemental Sunday Million of the day brought out 5,671 entrants and offered up a prize pool of $1.1 million. Right before Black Friday, Julius could be found as high as #14 in the PocketFives Rankings, and currently stands at #139.

Illini213 Takes Down PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up
Two weeks ago, Steve Illini213 Barshak, who now calls Costa Rica home, came away with a victory in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up. On a day that saw two of each PokerStars Sunday Major played, Barshak beat a field of over 4,100 players to bank $131,000. The Warm-Up wasn’t chopped and finished with a heads-up battle between the American transplant and Poland’s Woher90. PocketFives caught up with Barshak to break down his latest accolade.

On the first day of February, Aleksandr gnat777 Gnatenko started the month off on the right foot by getting the final win needed for his second online poker Triple Crown. The award came in a big way, as Gnatenko took down the PokerStars Big $162 for $18,000 and over 300 PLB points. Prior to that, he had won the $10,000 Guaranteed on PartyPoker for $3,700 and the $17,500 Guaranteed Turbo on the Merge Gaming Network for $4,400.

LiroLa Final Tables Sunday Majors on Back-to-Back Weekends
On January 15th and 22nd, Rafael Monteiro (pictured), better known as LiroLa on PocketFives, recorded final tables in Sunday Majors on back-to-back weekends. One of them was even for a win to boot. On January 15th, Monteiro and 3,600 other poker players entered the weekly PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up and vied for a $734,000 prize pool. When the smoke cleared, Monteiro took third place, the highest finishing spot for a PocketFiver, and walked away with $60,000.

Black Friday changed the lives of poker players from around the United States. Among them was T.J. 1bigacehole Ulmer (pictured), who relocated to Montreal, Canada in order to continue playing online poker. The decision paid off, as in recent weeks, Ulmer walked away with a $67,000 bankroll boost for winning the PokerStars Sunday $100 Rebuy. Down the stretch, he contended with several brand name PocketFives members, including Mike timex McDonald and Kenny Hixx Hicks, both of whom made the top 10.

On Sunday, the eyes of the online poker community were fixated on the Main Event of the PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online Poker, or TCOOP. The 49th event of the first ever TCOOP, and the series’ finale, brought out a field of nearly 3,400 players in a $700 No Limit Hold’em tournament. Ari Engel Takes Second in Ongame $100K
Seven years ago, and eight months after our community launched, Ari Engel (pictured) joined PocketFives. His results since then have been consistently impressive, as he’s registered about $2.5 million in tracked tournament cashes and ascended all the way to the top spot in the prestigious PocketFives Rankings. Engel was forced out of Las Vegas following Black Friday and now resides in Toronto, Canada, where he continues to enjoy a high level of success.

It took all of two days for Frederik Brink (pictured), who goes by the user name BRINK here on PocketFives, to score an online poker Triple Crown. Eleven days ago, the United Kingdom’s Kevin scarface2911 Howe (pictured) came away with a fourth place finish in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up. Howe’s reward was $41,000 and he watched as the remaining three players forged a deal guaranteeing each of them at least $81,000. While he called the three-way chop immediately following his exit “frustrating,” Howe still vaulted to #52 worldwide in the PocketFives Poker Rankings, his highest mark to date, on the strength of having the 43rd best PLB tally.

The 2012 Aussie Millions is underway at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia and, right off the bat, a PocketFives member is making waves. Brendon Rubie (pictured), known as BrendonR here on the site, won a $1,000 + $100 AUD No Limit Hold’em event, the opening tournament of the annual festival. weavel Recaps Runner-Up Finish in PartyPoker $100K High Roller
On the second Sunday of 2012, Mexico’s David weavel Emmons (pictured) took second place in the PartyPoker $100,000 Guaranteed High Roller following a two-way chop. His reward was nearly $30,000 in real money and his second largest tracked score to date. The very first online poker Triple Crown of 2012 went to the nation of Australia, as Trent Ahurazor Jones (pictured) took down three $10,000 prize pool tournaments across three sites tracked for the Poker Player Rankings in a week. In actuality, Jones needed all of two days to accomplish the feat, as he won the PartyPoker $10 Rebuy and a $100 tournament on bwin on the same day for a combined $7,800. The next day, his Triple Crown quest was complete with a chop in the PokerStars Big $55 for a healthy $16,000 and first place.

Sweden's Srslyfu Wins Ongame $100,000 Guaranteed
On the very first day of 2012, poker players took to the felts for the first Sunday Majors of the year. On sites like bwin, the Ongame Network $100,000 Guaranteed was in high gear, as a field of 487 players turned up to create a prize pool that topped $110,000. In the end, Sweden’s Srslyfu came away with the win in the $108 buy-in tournament and banked $21,000. He has rocketed all the way up to #631 worldwide in the Sliding PLB and is #6 in his home country.

On the first day of January, Shane shaniac Schleger (pictured) got the 2012 calendar year started off on the right foot by taking part in a seven-way chop of the PokerStars Sunday Million. Holding down the fort as the top ranked player in Ireland on PocketFives is Dan danloulou Smyth (pictured). Tulsa, Oklahoma native Ben Benba Lamb (pictured), a member of the 2011 WSOP November Nine, edged out decorated PocketFiver Chris moorman1 Moorman for CardPlayer’s 2011 Player of the Year title. CardPlayer posted the results on Monday showing that Lamb ended up with 6,036 points, about 150 ahead of Moorman’s 5,875. Lamb recorded $5.3 million in tracked earnings in 2011, $4 million of which came after a third place finish in the WSOP Main Event.

Sedrick Final Tables PokerStars 10th Anniversary Sunday Storm
The December 11th running of the $11 buy-in PokerStars Sunday Storm was part of the site’s 10th anniversary celebration. The guaranteed prize pool of the Sunday Storm was upped to $1 million and at least $150,000 was allocated to the winner. After registration had closed, the tournament mustered an impressive field of 116,000 players and a $1.1 million prize pool. There’s a new sheriff in town. Mike telks Telker (pictured) ascended to #1 in the PocketFives Online Poker Rankings this week. He rose three spots in Wednesday’s Rankings release and owns the fourth best Pro Poll tally and PLB score in the land. It’s a big achievement for the Triple Crown winner and world traveler whose volume has remained relatively limited. We managed to hunt him down to congratulate him on his latest achievement. Remember, to this point, Telker had been ranked no higher than #3 worldwide.

In the October 30th running of the PokerStars $100 Sunday Rebuy, Canada’s Ryan ryanghall Hall (pictured) came away with a win and boosted his home country’s GDP by $55,000. The un-chopped tournament drew exactly 900 players, who created nearly a $300,000 prize pool. Pius Heinz Wins 2011 WSOP Main Event
Around 3:15am ET on Wednesday morning, Pius Heinz (pictured) became the first World Series of Poker Main Event champion from Germany. After a timely double up, Heinz put an end to the longest heads-up match in the last 10 years at the WSOP. Providing an early congratulations to Heinz was ESPN’s Andrew Feldman, who Tweeted, “Congrats to Pius Heinz, 2011 WSOP Main Event champ & now $8.7 million richer. He eliminated Staszko after an epic heads-up battle.”

Earlier this month, Michael xxunleashedxx Gattozzi came away with the win in the weekly Full Tilt Poker Sunday Mulligan. The day that Gattozzi took down the title, the Sunday Major brought in a field of 1,214 players and a prize pool of $242,000 was up for grabs.
