• Re:chorny is pissed

lol not sure why i get mentioned in OP, but I did happen to be watching some of the FT (until I fell asleep last night) and I think Mcmatto had been playing kinda aggressive, but as you ask... Pre-flop: call seems fine, but I'm not calling to flop top pair and really want to see some kind of combo draw type flop that I can play profitably OOP after the flop Flop: As this is NOT the type of flop I'm looking for, but has (limited) showdown value, I'd likely check-call Turn: Likely check

well done chris. this has brightened up an otherwise miserable night (just finished 120th of 27k+ in the 5R for a risible amount of money) incidentally, regarding the hand, it was very close to the bubble and, as such, is standard versus below's range imo

Exactly, that was my point about it being the bubble which some people who perhaps dont know how below plays took the wrong way. It is in the nature of his game to always be more inclined to bluff for big stacks close to the bubble than at other times.
Even in a tournament where it is likely that the level of play is such that attempting to exploit the bubble may not even be plus EV?
It is Below and he can't help

  • Re:Where is The Omaholic??

ok there are bits and pieces of this jigsaw here and there, but the bottom line may be (= speculation, not knowledge) that the omaholic was involved in some eloborate cheating scheme from his backers (the infamous empire of sheets+bax). others presently unknown to me, but likely known to people "in the know" are involved and sheets is naturally "livid" to the extent that he makes a post on 2+2 trying to ruin the life of a totally innocent guy that he accidentally sent money to

oh and sandler1860 doesn't like me posting about this topic
You posted a dumb question, I commented on it, nothing further. Im not going to go into everything for you, but I can state a couple facts for you. 1. The people in question in that thread stole from bax/sheets, NOT from you. 2. There is NO colluding/chip dumping of any kind in MTTs by bax/sheets horses. And lol @ me not wanting you to post. I want you to post

  • Re:How do you get your confidence back when running bad?

I just tried this, it seemed to help: Sit down at 25/50 with all the money you have left on stars after a downswing: PokerStars Game #25679026421: Hold'em No Limit ($25/$50) - 2009/03/07 0:29:47 CET [2009/03/06 18:29:47 ET] Table 'Budrosa V' 9-max Seat #5 is the button Seat 1: rubenrtv ($3150 in chips) Seat 2: LittleZen ($1123 in chips) Seat 4: ouijaboard7 ($3311.70 in chips) Seat 5: ghth ($5997 in chips) Seat 6: takechip ($6722 in chips) Seat 7: Zpaceman ($2400 in chips) Seat 8: ~diQ

  • Re:How do you serious pro grinders deal with massive downswings???

Here's some of my data: Downswing#1: -115 buy-ins / 300 mtts Downswing#2: -91 buy-ins / 155 mtts Downswing#3: -138 buy-ins / 158 mtts Recent downswing: -88 buy-ins / 139 mtts This over a sample of ~3k mtts with overall ROI +50% at $180 abi. Downswing duration is usually 6-12 weeks. I usually just play through them, but sometimes take shorts break, move down my abi, play more satellites or try different sites, but after this much experience I know it is just part of the game. Definitely keep playing
