Flatting the 3bet the first time around is a big mistake IMO. I'd seriously rather 4bet and turn my cards over than flat the 3bet.
yeah someone needs to lock this thread, heh. IMHO we shouldn't be considering a flat ever when someone we've classified as not good (according to OP) has cold-called. i don't understand how so many people have given him so much credit in this thread for going to play perfectly post flop against AA etc when all the information on him that we have is that we've seen him around but he isn't good. it's dicey value when we are probably playing OOP deep to a tough player and someone

heh, you had a flat out crack at 99nvrloses because you assumed from his post his poker knowledge was very simplistic and went on to write a super long patronizing paragraph telling him all about how poker is a complicated game when that was completely uncalled for. whatever bro, don't dish it if you can't take it. /lock thread
i mean... do u have to make it 800 or whatever pre over his 3b? I kno if u flat its multiway and annoying but ranges change drastically when u do this and ur kinda giving up hope on value from so many other hands. I could be horribly wrong but after u tb make it 800 it just narrows it so much i think its just hard to get much value post flop unless they are awful
lololol this is ridiculous, the only reason to check flop is to disguise your hand, it's
i was referring to pre... also did u even mean to quote me? So lost i think u just like going after me lol.
yeh i passed reading comp in middle school - you were trying to advocate not 4-betting with AA pre because it becomes harder to get value after the flop unless players are bad.. if you don't know why i was laughing i don't know what to say, lol. at the end of the day when we have AA here our opponent's call is losing him money and handing

a bluff getting through both here would be extremely extremely rare.. it would work a non-zero amount of the time but most o8 regs will pay off 1 more bet here as weak as ATxx if they are the last to act. id just let this one go
Hi this is DD posting on 3kingme3s account. Well this is really tough we have AK he we raised and get flatted. I probably fold the flop, not to his raise though, I open fold flop. Sure theres no action yet and we can also check, but if we do we might get into some tough post flop decisions, so I just open fold. Good post though tough spot for sure.
LOL priceless
I wanted to discourage a 3 bet/commit from small/mid pair. I feel I have an decent edge over the rest of the remaining field and want to avoid a race if possible.
this seems completely illogical and counter-intuitive to me? how does a larger raise, which in turn commits your opponents when they 3bet with said hands, actually discourage that as opposed to a 2.5 (or less)x to which a standard 3bet would not be committing? it's not like making it 3x magically

someone run an IP check if that's possible, would be really funny to know who this actually is
