Good for these doctors. They have spent their lives gaining a skill which they have the right to value at any price they want. If you don't think they are worth the price they are asking then you have the right to take your business elsewhere. If poor people want to be able to access a doctor who monetarily values his skill above the average doctor then the poor person needs to do something to get the necessary money to pay for the access. If they cannot, then there are other options available
You are spot on except for this. It really has nothing to do with skill level...more like sales. If you can talk 250 patients into paying you $2k a year each, you make half a mil without being very busy. They aren't putting a value on their skill, more so on their time.
There isnt any difference.
I disagree. The best surgeons in the world can charge whatever they want because people with money will pay for it. On the other hand, just being a surgeon doesn't mean you can charge the same. There's not a flat rate based on skill level. When we were contemplating this change, we were going to charge $2500-3000 per year per patient. That doesn't mean our physicians have twice the skill level as the doctor in the article, rather they want to see less

I dont see why a state should have to "opt out" If anything a state should have to "opt in." The federal government shouldnt be changing the status quo of the states and then allowing them to change it back if they want. They should be leaving the states alone and allowing them to change if they decide that is the way they want to go.
I am part of that crowd....here is your simple answer...NOOOOOO...if CNN quoted it I would have the same issues I do with Faux quoting it......mainstream media in all forms is shit, complete and utter shit with an agenda at hand. That answer your ?
So you believe that the Constitution authorizes the health care reforms being debated right now in Congress?
Not really. You don't seem to fall into the crowd I was asking the question to. You distrust ALL forms of media, which I can respect much more than the idiots who think they are getting the truth from ABC,CBS, and NBC. I'll rephrase the question to you though: If you met Judge Napolitano at a bar and you struck up a conversation, what would you think about his comments, assuming he said exactly what he said above?
I saw Judge Napolitano speak live
I think it would depend on the confidence/conviction I felt from him while telling me the exact same thing. Its almost like a poker hand you can't really get a read unless you are there. I have a hard time believing what I read in situations like this. Hearing it in a sit down personal conversation would clearly have more of an affect on my opinions on the subject though. That crowd you refer to is so naive that there isn't even a point in arguing with them
What I said is that I have issues with it. As for answering your question, I don't believe it does authorize this exact reform...at the same time I believe that provisions such as penalties for no car insurance etc etc have wedged the door open enough to where it is a debatable subject.... IMHO there is no difference between the two situations . That doesn't mean I like or am for either, but it is reality none the less.
No difference between car insurance
If you don’t purchase what the government tells you to buy, if you don’t do so when they tell you to do it, and if you don’t buy just what they say is right for you, the government may fine you, prosecute you, and even put you in jail. Oh, you mean like car insurance? Meanwhile John Kyl and Spencer Bachus are on the front page of this site trying to kill off my job because it offends them.
There is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge difference between car and health

Serious question for all you guys out there who say that you used to have best friends and don't anymore because of wives and family. Do you feel any resentment towards your significant other/kids for breaking up your relationships with your friends?
