• Re:Bring back Riley
pasted for the lazy ones Re(2): Get to Know your Fellow MODS featuring Riley In reply to By 1.21Gigawatts on 03-19-2006 1:45 AM 7 years ago. I was at a train station in Des Moines. I had been traveling for the better part of three months. ... While I was standing there with my ticket under the nozzle, I was approached from behind from a tall man in a black trench coat. He was soaking wet, from his head to his shoes. Dripping water everywhere. I remember thinking

  • Re:PLB Sliding Score Question

Yes, there is a lag between when the score appears on your "Recent Scores" page and when your Sliding PLB score is updated.

  • Re:Books on math of poker

In the Bahamas last year, I picked up a copy of "The Mathematics of Poker" by Bill Chen and Jerrod Ankenman (I believe it had just been released). It is by far the most comprehensive and thorough read on the subject I have found. Read the review at http://www.amazon.com/review/R3S38OT6LPT7A1 for a closer look at the topics covered in this exceptional book.
I liked the old one about the child... my mind's blanking, somebody help me out...
Error Executing Child Request at XXXX-...-XXXX.aspx Note that "child" here is an adjective modifying the type of request (a request that was executed, i.e. implemented, by a parent process), and not a poor helpless infant awaiting the swing of an axe, as Microsoft's poor terminolgy might otherwise be interpreted. At any rate, the two messages are related

  • Re(1): Fantasy Filmmaker Update

I know this looks a bit like sour grapes since I'm not very close in the running here, so let me preface this post by saying I've had a lot of fun with this game, and I'm not suggesting that anything should change for this particular competition. I do think, however, that we should re-evaluate the scoring if this game is ever played again (I, for one, hope that there's a 2008 version). Averaging the Rotten Tomato "Fresh" percentage scores with the IMDB average ratings doesn't make any sense to me

  • Re(1): Question about Sortable Rankings.

The Sortable Rankings do not reset at the first of the year. They use the scoring rules of the Sliding PLB, namely, all scores from the last sliding year count, with more weight given to more recent scores. If you are motivated to move up in your own personal region/category, you'll certainly move to the top or near the top of the list if you have the best track record over the last 3 months.

  • Re(1): Free $

Free $5.00 on PS to the 1st person who figures this out. Edit: The first time through I figured out the first few characters in my head and speculated on the ending. Free $5.00 on PS to the 1st person to PM me saying "I Love Kate" P.S. Keep the $5 for another contest. I enjoy these, like what it adds to the community, and would like to see it go to someone else.

  • Re(1): What do the highlighted blue scores in "my scores" for rankings mean..

From the Leaderboard FAQ, Question 3 : How does the sliding leaderboard work? : "The Sliding Leaderboard is the leaderboard that factors into the results portion of the PocketFives.com World Wide Rankings. The Sliding PLB is also the sole source of information for all Sortable Rankings (i.e. rankings by country, age, and other criteria). The Sliding Leaderboard combines a player's top 40 finishes, with a maximum of 24 from any single site and spans the most recent 12 months of data collected by PocketFives
