  • Re:The Most Ridiculous Poker Hands in Movie History

one funny thing about maverick is that he has an open end straight flush draw 10sjsqsks and so either the 9s or As would make him a higher straight flush and win the pot, but the movie and everyone seems to remeber he HAD only one out...still doesnt change the ridiculousness of putting his whole stack in having to catch one of 2 outs in the deck...but amusing anyways

maverick drew one card and didnt look at it...the action was like all in, re shove all in, and he called all in for all the chips in play. And so basically he knew a flush wasnt gonna win so he knew he had only 2 outs but the way the movie plays he thinks he only has 1 out...and of course hits it

yea the poker scenes were horrible at best, and movies of this high budge usually have consultants so you wonder what the poker consultant was doing during the write up of these scenese...i mean bond is suppose to be good at poker yet every hand they show is an un avoidable cooler in which he loses one and wins the other...also the girl yells at him for losing to le chiffre with top full house against quads, but overall the movie was good i thought besides the dreadful poker scenes

  • bye bye...baby?

Possibly a repost, but scotty the prince of poker nguyen announced before the series that basically if he doesn't win 4 million dollars this summer hes going to retire from poker. Lol at this target for ANYONE, and i think hes at like 20k won or something so unless he wins the main event lol i think his missed his target. the question is...will scotty be missed? your thoughts

hes definetly got a jekyl/hyde thing going...i know he does alot for his fans and stuff, but ive heard/seen multiple times where he gets bligerently drunk and is rude to players and dealers so i dont know... the only thing is that characters good or bad like scotty are good for the game and keep poker in the public eye

  • Re:Live poker hand, what should I have done?

the way most live regs. play what did you expect him to have? When readin i immediately assumed he flopped a set, he limp calls utg +1 thats very likely he has a small pair and what else is gonna min raise you with on the flop...

  • Re:Live poker hand, what should I have done?

anyways...raise more preflop, and you didnt play it horrible after the flop...i always try to utilize pot control here, i mean with him betting theres not much you can beat on that board besides a dry queen...maybe fold the river, but besides raise more preflop you didnt play it that badly

  • any p5ers playing in the 50k horse?

just curious because id like to root for some online guys like pearljammer, etc but not sure if any of them are playing in the 50k, chances are the numbers will be down since no tv coverage.

  • Re:Any Balla's playing the $50,000 mixed event today?

i just posted a similar thread, oops...id say like 130-140 would be fair maybe less. The economy sucks, alot of big pros have had bad series, not televised etc...
