Sigh... the real scientists do agree and they have called for a course of action... it's called the IPCC and they won a Nobel prize for their work. Al Gore was merely a figurehead. There aren't "too many arguments" there's mainstream accepted science and a few reputable skeptics who questions small parts of the science. Now if only we could figure out a way to harness some power from the hot air coming from the deniers. 80% of the Peruvian glaciers gone. Rapidly increasing glacial

The reporting thus far, and the blogosphere is latching onto a few sentences. I am open minded and if compelling evidence that the group has been engaged in a persistent and pervasive hoax I would sit up and pay attention. However, this is one research center out of hundreds, a few dozen scientists out of thousands and does not represent the sum total of climate science. I have high degree of confidence in the transparency of the scientific process and the motivations of scientists. Much more so
hey lenny, has the earth warmed in the last 10~ years? why not??
Hey Jeff have sea levels risen in the past ten years? Have glaciers continued to disappear? It's CLIMATE CHANGE, not global warming. It's a lot more complex a system than average global temperature.

Why are there palm fossils in Michigan? Ummm... plate tectonics much? http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/geology/anim1.html Michigan used to be at a tropical latitude. Pretty sure that continental drift is not a major factor in the past century. As for your personal energy use, congrats on your success man. Really. You've worked hard and done well, I am happy for you. I personally think that your outsized toys are a bit excessive, but you have every right to indulge yourself. I do think that you will
I apologize sir I misinterpreted what you were saying. I thought that by comparing 9-11 truthers with global warming truthers you were basically insinuating that people who believe in global warming were fools. I am a lil bit of a dumb jock sometimes so forgive me for my rants. There are a lot of smart people in OT and this was a very good discussion with a lot of great points coming from both sides of the argument. I will rarely post anymore because I always seem

I realize we've passed the requisite time for the Holocuast to be funny... but some of these "jokes".... yeesh! Ok, I've said my peace. Back to business as usual.
Its possible that our population growth has had an effect on the climate (pollution). Its possible that as societies industrialize and become more prosperous around the world they effect the climate (pollution). Its possible that increased global trading - international shipping, etc could effect the climate (pollution). Its possible that increased deforestation due to societal and industrial changes has had an effective on the climate. Its possible that none of the
lol Lenny, a few sentences. stop it man, just stop. so, taking sax's list that we all agree with btw, take each point, should be fun increased population: we can fix this, won't be pretty, but yeah, can be done increased global trading: easy enough, china will be pissed at us and we'll be paying huge for our electronics, but yeah, for the sake of global whatever it is now we can stop all global trading deforestation: we actually have more trees than we
