  • Re(3): cash game difficulties

I am doing much the same thing...playing low limit nl cash games after some sng success...I am doing well but find that I am losing a lot when I am the preflop raiser with a big pair and an opponent flops a set on a board with no overcards...eg...I raise with QQ and get heads up against a cold caller...board comes 9 4 2..I bet 1/2 to 2/3 pot and am called....turn is a relative blank 942 7....I bet 1/2 to 2/3 again and am checkraised...usually I have the opponent covered and tend to call...opponent

  • Re(5): Micon on P5 Podcast

Anybody know if they will be selling the Micon system again? I have a weakness for systems :) and my MTT game is non-existent so was planning to perhaps buy it but missed the "last chance" email...cheers, pokernut

  • Re(1): Questions for Professional SnG Players

watty, Although I do fairly well (not really a pro but doing it full time for the moment) at Sngs, I am looking at a breakeven/small loss month....the first two weeks were a normal hapyy 30% ROI, followed by two weeks of solid losing in which I couldn't win with any small fave hands...I am appropriately bankrolled so it is not a big deal but I won't be able to cash out until I buff out my bankroll a bit again...in essence, I won't be cashing out for the next two to three weeks minimum which means

  • Re(1): In other words; Variance?

Lol...heartily agree...been thinking the exact same metaphor for the past twenty four hours...a lovely 1-16 in sngs yesterday and played well...breakeven over the previous 50...previous week I was destroying them...so, yes variance :)...Poker is a great tool for working on your patience and discipline lol...but as you said, somehow at the end of it all there is money in the bank... What I am currently trying to do is think of my results in terms of ongoing small cycles that feed larger cycles, instead

  • Re(3): Gigabet's block theory . . .

A fascinating article to say the least...I think there is a lot of similarity between this approach and Gidder's article on his approach to playing the $50 turbos on Stars...the goal being to dominate the table and making -EV plays in the right spots to do so...I think it goes without saying though that you have to be able to outplay most of your oppents when you invariably lose and become average/short stacked...I can't seem to find Gidder's article to reread...anyone have a link?

  • Re(2): Thanks Jennifear!

It was extremely reasonable...$10 an hour and $30 for four hours...great value...you can visit her webpage and see available tutoring times here: http://jennypoker.spaces.live.com/PersonalSpace.aspx?_c02_owner=1 Good Luck!

  • Thanks Jennifear!

Hi P5ers, First post although I have had the pleasure of reading P5s for over a year now…I just wanted to take a moment and pass on some compliments about Jennifear’s sng lessons…I contacted her after reading all the great feedback on her low limit sng public lesson as I felt that my sng game needed some tuning…in particular, I was struggling in turbos which I am relatively new at… I booked a four-hour session (and also got a free hour the day before as I happened to be on messenger- thanks Jen!
