I've been playing poker for around one and a half years now. I have the blessing, that after paying the "learning money", I'm now a solid winner, and I'm planning a serious future in poker. One thing, however, that keeps me from becoming even better is bad beats, tilting, and anything related. Now 99% of poker players would say they hate listening to bad beat stories, but like to tell them, just to get out of their system. Still, after we calm down, we realize how stupid that

As the title suggests, I'm running red hot like Joe Hachem! Since the end of my exams, everything seems to have clicked into place regarding poker. I've been getting lucky in some situations, but I also found the perfect types of poker to play. It started a couple weeks ago, when I discovered the $8.80 double shootout satellites to the sunday million. You only have to win two 6-max satellites in a row to qualify. Something we do all the time. And the fun part is that 2nd to 5th also get paid

This will be a quicky, but I need some answers. Couple of days ago, I was looking around on Full Tilt to rail some high-stakes games. With no durrrr/Ziigmund/Hansen/Ivey/Antonius around, it wasn't that much fun, but I cought attention on the mixed PLH/PLO games. I sat down at a 0.02/0.05 table, which is way below my BR, so I felt comfortable. We started out 5 handed, but players eliminated and left, and I found myself playing heads-up. On the first hand of HU, the first strange hand: Me: AK9x

Hi everyone! Last Friday, a friend of mine invited me to a poker game in a small town not far from us. Basically it should've been a cash game, but players agreed to play some sort of turbo S'n'G before it starts. I agreed although i HATE live donkaments, (you'll understand why) but I played many SNG's recently. So the table is around the worst ever, mixed from LP players to drunks...all I must do to win is find good spots, win a couple of showdowns and push every hand in the

Hi everybody! I decided to move the poker part of my blog here so i can share my thoughts with people who care. So a little about me: I'm Peter and I'm a 20 years old university student from Hungary. I started playing about 2 years ago when couple of my friends discovered poker and started organizing funny little $2 home games. The main goal was to have fun, not the money, but we got into it, we found out who the fish were, and who the sharks, and in a couple of months, we found ourself as

The most hilarious part of it that he folded AA basically HEADS UP!!!! Whatever the shortstack has doesn't matter, because the side pot would be 20 times bigger. Jeeeez. Even if you call and the 7-6 sucks out on you, you would finish 2nd. Now you finished 3rd, playing the donkest hand ever recorded. Man I advice you to make a T-shirt that you were the one doing this. I want to play you all day.

I know it's a 2$ MTT but how the do you come up with the idea of calling a raise-reraise with 65off? You shouldn't make that call and then comes the allin-fest, and you call half of your healthy stack with a REALLY BAD hand. And then ridiculous happens: why bet the flop for 250 then fold? Either shove the flop if you think you can chase villain away (it might worked as there was an overcard for his TT) I'm sorry but you misplayed this hand 3 times. If you call to see a flop its okay but

Player F raises to $20 Player G calls Player A calls Player B calls Player C calls Player D calls Player E calls ... Player F shows 8h 4c This shows it all. The belongs rather to the bad beat forum, as its a real bad beat to sit down at a game like this. Don't bother, you played it very well, if it hurts you, never play with them again. Thats the only way to avoid it. nh.gg.

OK guys, you said the exact thing what i did. I kinda instacalled, the guy showed queens, the board came 5678 and i couldn't hit the 6 outs plus 8 chop-outs which made me sick in the stomach and running a quick ICM calculation. AND HERE'S THE CATCH! I think his range might not possibly be 66+ AT+, but rather TT+ AQ+ If you calculate ICM with his TT, JJ, or QQ, it turns out to be -EV. I started out the final table with 135$ of equity, and I have around 45% chance for doubling up and getting
