6 team playoff isnt a horrible idea imo but "any" undefeated getting in is rediculous lets use this year as an example... TTU/bama/boise/ball st/psu all go undefeated (totally hypothetical) your then deciding between florida,usc,texas etc when all of them are obviously more deserving than ball st and arguably a few of the others but its not necesarry to haggle over which. I personally like 8 teams as it is the same maximum amount of games played to win a championship as 6 teams (3) and
