  • Re:Formula for winning an online tourney - revealed.

OP, before you post a thread telling a community full of people who play for a living, read here daily, and want to improve that theres a secret and you found it.. Please have a basic idea of what you're talking about. rather than ignore the pages and pages of advice offered to you by players who consistantly beat the game, try reading them before you develop your fool proof strategy that has allowed you to win...0 tournaments. " You have to be willing to blind out.." - The "good"

  • Re:+/- EV .... Articles?

[quote user="Jennifear"] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expected_value ^^this will help A good example: Assume for arguments sake that AA vs 66 is exactly 80/20. Let's say you are in a MTT, and the starting stacks are 1500. You hold AA. Someone shoves and somehow you know they have 66. You call. 4/5 of the time you'll end up with 3000. 1/5 of the time you'll end up with 0. On average, you'll end up with 2400. Therefore your call was +EV by 900 chips (+cEV 900) Hope that helps

  • Re:SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKK River bet in $33 MTT on stars can you EVER fold?

3 bets pre flop.. you put him on aces - call looking for your 2 outer, you siad you want to see a flop, flop comes j42 then what..? so you hit your 2 outer you thought you needed ..Ace hits turn.. (your "100% must have" read says he has aces..) and you bet into him.. he calls, bets goes light on river, you call and post thread that you knew the whole time...pegging him on aces from the get go, could you have played this hand any worse from start to finish..? unlucky he had aces, avoidable

  • Re:Taking a shot

I've also been requesting the same information from some of the guys i think have respectable games..the answer i got was to satellite into majors, or bigger tournies... other suggestions are playing games that are better for your bankroll.. grinding the micro's.. 2/3's is a long and boring way to a bankroll.. if you're cashing frequently.. try the 180's... the 4.40 - 180 man is almost half your bankroll each time you win it.. and after winning one you got another 49 times before

  • Re:Single Table Sit and Go Stratergy's

Early stages of a sitngo you want to be putting your chips in where you KNOW you're ahead, raising 140 at 15/30 is useless when holding AQ/TT etc, If you're not snapping this shov why make it 140.. Early strategy you want to play small pot with marginal holdings and get it when you've made a nice hand or or big draw.. if he is shoving on you at 15/30 level there will be better spots for you to call his shove..note the shov, fold and wait for your spot.. it will come (hopefully before

  • Re:What is the LOWEST salary you would accept to be a professional poker player?

100K + to play poker for a living...? lol, 90% of this community comes home from work and plays poker... for those making 100K + a year and wouldn't take a drop because you've accomplished that, I agree.. but the guys out there 9-5ing 50-60k jobs and saying they would need 100k + to play poker for a living.. sleep in till 11am..take a couple days off a week.. spend time with your families and take the 10k loss a year. The things you receive without having a schedule will be much more worth
