from 2p2: Meh I agree the P5s post was a little over the top. I still have plenty of friends in poker, and wasn't trying to make generalizations about EVERYONE who plays... which shoulda been obvious but maybe wasn't. All I was trying to say is it's pretty unbelievable how many (not all, not most, but a lot) of the most successful online tourney players have at some point been publicly or privately connected with cheating, now or in the past. Some of these people were friends and

I remember on my first poker trip (Aruba a couple years ago), which was my first time meeting a bunch of people I knew online (and a bunch I didn't know), how it seemed like almost literally everyone was friends, honestly. I felt like everyone would introduce me to five people I didn't know, who'd each introduce me to five other people, and so on. It's almost as if everyone realized that since we were in the same place because of our same passion/profession, there was really no reason

a) the people in the "this play is awful" camp ONLY mention two things - "you can shove and win like nothing or OMG YOU CAN GET CALLED AND LOSE IT ALLLLL" i wasn't sitting around during the FT with pokerstove or some shit open (dont even own those programs) but did you guys know that those EV calculations include some times that... i get called and WIN! i know weird right? that HH rly happened. my point is, to those of you saying this shove is so risky... you're right

hah sry i just always like these "everyone thinks a play is awful until one/two people everyone knows come in sayin its OK, so everyone who enters the thread after that thinks its OK" threads... a p5s trademark. anyways, i havent posted in a long time so i owe this one i guess honestly the main reason i jammed was bc i hated all my other options (im never open-folding, raise/call is definitely worse than shove, and raise/fold is just like... idk i can't hit a 262k 2 outer that way)

lockdownpokah: play seems awful to me why not raise? pokercini prolly isnt 3betting light since you still have FE on him? depending on how he's been playing, i might still 4bet shove 44 here. but open shoving seems like you are scared to make a decision if you are played back at which is fine if he had like 20 BBs or less, but 30? id say ccini folds a vv small pct of the time that he 3b's here. anwyays what im mostly concerned with are the times he simply reshoves and takes the play from

i know youre not hatin and i respect your game too so i like the discussion. i dont think raise/fold is a bad play, it's the only other acceptable play here, i think. though, if im not gonna 4bet, and im never getting flatted (probably true), then im turning my hand into 72o... not that that's the end of the world with 44, obviously. jus sayin. i think i make slightly more chips by jamming than i do by raise/folding. obviously its a marginal spot, but i think its +$EV... and like i said,
I'm winning to bet anything that in the long run, it could be +cev and major -mev.
i'd be willing to bet more that this shove isn't "massively" anything, whether +/- cEV or +/- $EV also im pretty sure that if you 'turn it into an sng equation' that it was already proved in this thread that it's a +$EV shove but i could be wrong. didn't you even say you ran it and it came out neutral? honestly i cant do the back n
Here's the other question Is it possible that raise/folding 27o is more profitable than open shoving 44's with those chip stacks. Just throwing that out there. I mean all 3 of them aren't gonna nit it up, but they are 100% tightening their range with those stacks. and if it's all reshove stacks then fine. But with 30bb, their reshove range and their calling range has to be pretty similar.
i just established that raise/folding 27o and
