Since Monday, I've been contemplating some things I need to do to make $$$ short-term and long-term to sustain a decent bankroll and move up levels. After refreshing myself with Jennifear's info, and reading through Fox's info, I'm very proud of what I've been able to accomplish in a week. Started the week a 2 for 4 night in MTTs and picked up a +$17.20 night. Then I'm +$72.70 on the week at cash tables playing TAG poker and picking up easy pots w/o showdown.
I decided I was going to "Excel out" every session now, as opposed to when I just put cash on and take cash out. Taking BR Management very seriously since my lesson with Jennifear and it's working out. My goal is to increase my bankroll 1% a week. A modest goal that's easily attainable sticking to BR rules. And if I bink a MTT, great, if not, work hard to make my 1%.
I only played one hand poorly on the week to this point where I should've just folded JJ pre-flop in a $.50/$1 cash table. But as it played, I was pot committed to call the shove on the flop. Of course he flips up QQ because he was a nit and I was screwed on a 9-2-5 flop. Lesson learned: If re-raised by a shortstacking nit pre-flop w/ JJ or less, JUST FOLD. The guy was only shoving with primos (QQ-AA) and flat calling with (AJ-AK) so I should've known better there. Gotta learn to trust the gut and fold sometimes.
So I've logged only 3 hours and 41 min. playing .50/1 and 1/2 NLHE mixing in one session of 3/6 Stud and I'm +$72.20 ($19.60/hour) on the week so far. Hopefully I can keep it going! Just have to keep churning positive sessions.
On the live note, not sure if I'm going to go down to Mohegan Sun for 2 Fall deep stack events. There's a $400 event next weekend and a $300 event the weekend after. Was thinking I might do one, and it would most likely be the $300 so I wouldn't have to take work off.
See you at the tables.
