  • Going online...... and a top ten list

    By Shemp Hain - Mar 11 2009, 05:13 PM

I'm still in the process of an image overhaul. For those that want to see videos, don't worry they are coming soon. In the next month I'm planning on either A. getting a myspace page set up or B. developing my own site.

Here is my best explanation of what I'm trying to accomplish with this "image change". My basis for this decision lies on the fact that I'm trying to become famous and thus I need to give the public something unusual. A lot of the better comedians (stand up or acting) are unrecognizable to the mainstream simply because they are boring and average as far as appearance is concerned. Say for instance, you went to your local grocery and Dane Cook was there. Would you actually think it was Dane Cook? It would obviously be out of the ordinary to see a famous comedian grocery shopping but IS HE SO UNRECOGNIZABLE you would be sure it was him? Now imagine at the same grocery store you saw Carrot Top. You might have to do a double take but he is so odd in appearance that you would be 99% positive it was him. If you take this to extremes you could switch the above with Chris Martin (the name might not even ring a bell but it's the lead singer of Coldplay) and Travis Barker (the drummer for Blink 182). Both of these people have had similar success but if you had to bank on one to be self promoting it would be Travis Barker hands down. As often as I listen to Coldplay I wouldn't know who Chris Martin is if got into a bar fight with him.

As far as poker goes there has been nothing ground breaking. I read on 2+2 that Tom Dwan might be getting married but with the whole Prop 8 thing, I think he might have to settle for a "civil union".

I'm sorry I haven't been able to come up with any recent rants on blind people, those that play poker with their feet, the smell of Indian food, the way people pick their nose while driving, how ppl take shits in public toilets and don't flush, why really obese ppl smell funny, etc...

I have been constructing top ten lists for everything so I decided I'm going to post one on here every so often.

This week is going to be my

  • I'm still alive.

    By Shemp Hain - Mar 03 2009, 11:50 PM

I haven't blogged in over a week but I want to let everyone know I'm still alive and Tom Dwan is still queer. My poker results the past 2 weeks have been a little less than break even which is good because I've been running hot as hell. Tonight I busted on the second hand of a HA tournament I ran KK into AA.

Other than poker, I'm going to work on a total image makeover. I figure it's my best shot at making the "big time" as far as entertainment goes (more on this in the future). My theory is that there are so many ppl in the entertainment industry that don't have a niche. This goes for comedians as well. They all look like the person next door and talk about the same old bullshit. Think about it... how many big name comedians or tv stars would you recognize in person? If somebody has a positive or negative experience with my I want them to remember it. I'm also thinking about starting a myspace page (the jury is still out, but I think this will really help advance my career).

Speaking of comedians I suggest you check out Celebrity Apprentice because it features one of my favorite all time personalities, TOM GREEN.
