This Sunday was a record-breaking day for online poker tournaments, as online poker sites guaranteed more combined money than ever before. Leading the way was the $2 Million Guaranteed Full Tilt Online Poker Series Main Event, the FTOPS $1.5 Million Event #17, the PokerStars $2 Million Turbo Takedown, and the PokerStars Sunday Million.
Sunday's largest score by a PocketFiver was earned by "majdasad" who took home a whopping $307,763 for his 2nd Place finish in the $2,500+120 Full Tilt Online Poker Series Event #17, which was a two day tournament. Also in on the action at that final table were PocketFivers John "Johnson_1" Newcombe who made $175k for 4th Place, "jonasof87," who placed 5th for $133k, and "Badgers239," who finished 7th and earned nearly $64,000.
PocketFiver "ma77th3gr34t" had a huge win in the FTOPS Event #19, which was a $240+16 Knockout tournament. His outright victory was worth $146k, as he outlasted over 3,650 competitors. Darren "dabadestchic" Nelson (right) finished 9th in the FTOPS Event #19 for $7,300.
Not to be outdone, PocketFiver "aconsuma" placed 4th in the FTOPS $500+35 Main Event for $139k, as he came up just short after playing for 12 hours straight. Also making the FTOPS Main Event final table was "DEEZZZ_NUTS," who finished 7th for $61k.
Isaac "mr. menlo" Baron (top) continued his major online tournament dominance Sunday, with a win in the Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan over fellow P5'er Chris "LUHMAN" Martin. Isaac's victory was worth $47,700. Online tournament grinder "tnetter" cashed for $9,500 after ending up in 6th, and PocketFiver "Raoeoiku" collected $4,800 for 8th Place.
The Bodog $100k Guaranteed tournament saw PocketFivers finish in the top 4 spots, as "Koxi82" came out on top for $25,000. Colorful character John "JohnnyGStaks" Hayes (left), known for the Kid Robot hoodies he wears at live events, took home $14,300, after winning this tournament three weeks ago. PocketFives.com Triple Crown Winner Garrett "GBecks" Beckman finished in 3rd place for $9,200 and "payems" won $6,900 after being eliminated in 4th. Michael "SowersUNCC" Sowers had yet another major final table, ending his tournament life in 6th Place and earning $4,500.
The unique PokerStars Turbo Takedown attracted 9,600 players and paid out over 40% of the player field. For a buyin of 10,000 Frequent Player Points, P5'er "BleedBlue33" earned a paycheck of $80,000 for his 3rd Place finish. The PokerStars Sunday Million saw PocketFiver "Pappe_Ruk" make $14,200 for placing 8th in a tournament field of 7,900 players.
The Sunday Warm-Up was filled with P5'ers at the final table, headed by "xBryceyx" and "stevejpa," who won $41k and $32k for their respective 3rd and 4th Place finishes. Micah "mordan" Hendrix (right) took home $18,800 for 6th, "PureCash25" collected $13,600 for 7th, and "mychucks" rounded out the final table with a $5k score.
Seven PocketFivers made the final table of the PokerStars $200k Guaranteed 2nd Chance tournament, as "A6540" captured 1st Place for nearly $64,000. Coming in 2nd for $32k was "CapTinBisKuiT," and right behind him was "johnboiprodigy," who made $22,500 for his final table appearance. Earning $14k for 5th Place was "bhanks11," followed by "MikeCaroJr," who got 6th for $10,650. "Bcforrest" and "IronRing08" finished 7th and 8th respectively for $7,500 and $4,650.
The PokerStars $150k Guaranteed $215 Rebuy tournament saw more dominance from P5'ers, with "shini_333" earning $36k for Runner-Up. Long-time fan favorite Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken (left) finished in 3rd Place for $25k, as "ATM4Life" earned $14,500 for 5th. PocketFiver "game153" won $11,300 for his 6th Place showing.
The UltimateBet $200k Guaranteed was won by PocketFiver "Harris," adding $45,000 in bankroll, as "bukithepro" cashed for $13k for 4th Place. Justin "JBDenaro157" Blumenthal (right) won $6,500 for 7th Place. The final table included "badpab2" and "blur5f6," who took 9th and 10th place, earning $3,400 and $2,000 respectively. The PartyPoker $300k Guaranteed tournament was won by PocketFiver "IBluffUOut4," who earned well over $50k for his victory.
