Easter Sunday featured a showcase of PocketFives.com talent, as five major online tournaments were won by P5'ers. The biggest winner on Sunday was Nicholas "CapTinBisKuiT" Blumenthal (right), who took down the Full Tilt $750k Guaranteed for $134,000. Top-ranked online tournament player "GhettoFabolous" placed 3rd in that same tournament for $53,000. Also in on the final table action in the Full Tilt $750k Guaranteed were PocketFivers "JohnnyBax" and "codeman11," who finished the tournament in 6th Place and 8th Place respectively.

The Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan featured "driftdc5" and "AMoney13," who placed 2nd and 3rd for $27k and $20k. "AreTheseUtz" took 5th place for $11,700 and "Pablo Diablo" placed 9th for $3,200. PocketFiver "Michnak" ended up in 3rd Place in the Full Tilt Sunday Brawl, earning him $28,700 while "david_a" added $5,700 to his bankroll after finishing in 8th.

Team PokerStars member Hevad "RaiNKhaN" Khan (left) won the Sunday Warm-Up for nearly $98k this past weekend, as "Qcity" took 4th for $26,500. P5'er "hAAj" made $16k for 6th Place and "gambler2k4" finished 7th for $11,500. Three PocketFives.com members rounded out the final table in the PokerStars Sunday Million, as "jaywks," "blanconegro," and "pbdrunks" finished 7th, 8th, and 9th respectively.

The PokerStars Sunday 2nd Chance tournament had six P5'ers at its final table, led by "kutuz_off" who took home $50k for 1st Place while "term_" made $37,300 for 2nd. Josh "pbdrunks" Van Duyn (right) continued his impressive 2008 run with a 3rd Place finish for $33k, "markysals11" took home $21,500 for 4th, and "HitUR2outer" earned $15k for 5th Place. "Pocktdeuces" cashed for $9,300 after ending his tournament life in 7th Place.

"JOEYTHEB" captured a victory in the PokerStars $200 rebuy tournament for almost $43k in another final table that featured six PocketFives.com members. "JayPez" took 4th for $15,200, while top-ranked player "PURPLEPILS99" earned $9,500 for 6th. Rounding out the final table were "gus976," "bparis," and "mx4ever," who finished 7th, 8th, and 9th.

The Bodog $100k Guaranteed tournament was won by Jonathan "xMONSTERxDONGx" Karamalikis (left), who took home $25,000 for 1st Place. "EddieO" and "garage13" placed 6th and 7th for $4,500 and $3,500, while "thebrush5" and "openartery" placed 8th and 9th. In the PartyPoker $300k Guaranteed, PocketFiver "breeth" earned a nice paycheck for his 3rd Place finish, while "Deckzor" finished right behind him in 4th Place. That tournament final table also featured "gaffel," who finished in 10th.

"JohnnyGstaks" (right) continues to showcase his talents in Sunday major tournaments, and placed 2nd in the UltimateBet $200k Guaranteed on Sunday for $27,000. He was able to outlast "dapfunkera" and "katdragon," who earned $18,500 and $13k for finishing 3rd and 4th. "Sh@rkB@it" won $5,000 for his 8th Place result in the UB $200k Guaranteed.

"ATM4Life" won $25,000 for 1st Place, as "thedude81" earned $9,200 for 3rd Place. "Zdepew2000" won $4,500 for 6th Place in the Bodog $100k Guaranteed.

Two PocketFivers reached the final table in the PartyPoker $300k Guaranteed: "lucky_scrote" and "jimbomber" finished 6th and 7th Place respectively. The Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan featured three PocketFivers at its final table, led by "boltsva," who won $21,400 for 3rd Place. Nick "FU_15" Maimone (right) came in 4th for $16,400, and "SpaceyFCB" earned nearly $9k for 6th Place.

Former Sunday Million winner Yevgeniy "atimos" Timoshenko (right) won $28k for 3rd Place in the PokerStars 2nd Chance tourney, followed by "D1rtyR1v3r" and "donnysack," who finished 4th and 5th Place respectively for $21k and $15k. "Boodeewee" took home $9,000 for 7th Place and "utahjazz33" earned $3,900 for his final table appearance. The second Sunday of March brought out the best in PocketFives.com members, as the final table of the inaugural Bodog Poker Open Main Event featured a total of seven P5'ers. Shawn "phatcat" Luman (right) took down the Main Event for $76,000 and an Omega Speedmaster Watch. Shawn outlasted "_johnnydrama_," who took 2nd for $45,800. Jared "TheWacoKidd" Hamby ended up in 3rd for nearly $30k, and Stuart "Zpaceman" Taylor finished in 4th for over $21k.

Also making the BPO Main Event final table was PocketFives.com Moderator "Anbessa," who finished in 7th Place for $10,700. "PSP_addict" wound up in 8th Place for nearly $8,000 and "Eeman2004" rounded out the final table and cashed for over $5k.

The PartyPoker $300k Guaranteed tournament saw Sweden's "RIPCURL" at the final table. With his 7th Place finish, "RIPCURL" moves into the Top 10 in the PocketFives.com Sortable Rankings for the country of Sweden.

The PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up was won by P5'er "IWEARGOGGLES" (left), who earned $108,500 for the victory. The PokerStars $215 rebuy tournament featured six PocketFives.com members at the final table, led by "xxjondxx," who placed 2nd for $32k. This Sunday's online tournament action featured several very impressive performances by PocketFives.com members, led by David "Hickboy" Hickman's (right) outright victory in the Full Tilt Poker $750k Guaranteed Sunday major tournament for a score of $142,100. David is a 23 year old residing in Boston, Massachusetts, and also won the Full Tilt $55k Guaranteed a week ago along with final-tabling the PokerStars $100 rebuy last month.

One of the players that David had to get through in order to win, was Marco "CrazyMarco" Johnson (left), who placed 3rd in the Full Tilt $750k for $56k. Marco was on a roll this past Sunday, also placing 4th in the UltimateBet $200k Guaranteed. PocketFiver "ender555" placed 5th in the $750k Guaranteed for $33k, as P5'ers "absolutD37" and "Great_One82" finished in 7th and 8th Place respectively, for cashes of $14,500 and $10,800.

The Full Tilt $100k Guaranteed Sunday Mulligan saw three PocketFivers at the final table, as "TheStein" came out on top and earned nearly $46k for his efforts. "ZepHendrix" placed 6th for nearly $9k, and well-known P5'er Scott "utterczar" Utterback (right) took home nearly $6,000 for his 7th Place showing. The weekly PokerStars Sunday Million tournament saw one of its largest turnouts ever on Sunday, attracting over 8,000 entrants to its flagship tournament. Leading the way was PocketFiver "bhanks11," who won the PokerStars Monthly Sunday Million ($500+30 buyin) for $278,000. "Bhanks11," who plays on PokerStars as "usourcek," has been on fire recently with wins in the Nightly Hundred Grand, the $55k Guaranteed, and other freezeout tournaments... all within the past three months.

Also making the final table in the Stars Monthly $500+$30 Sunday Million were PocketFivers "Rightthurrr" and "Clayton_27." This Sunday was a record-breaking day for online poker tournaments, as online poker sites guaranteed more combined money than ever before. Leading the way was the $2 Million Guaranteed Full Tilt Online Poker Series Main Event, the FTOPS $1.5 Million Event #17, the PokerStars $2 Million Turbo Takedown, and the PokerStars Sunday Million.

Sunday's largest score by a PocketFiver was earned by "majdasad" who took home a whopping $307,763 for his 2nd Place finish in the $2,500+120 Full Tilt Online Poker Series Event #17, which was a two day tournament. Also in on the action at that final table were PocketFivers John "Johnson_1" Newcombe who made $175k for 4th Place, "jonasof87," who placed 5th for $133k, and "Badgers239," who finished 7th and earned nearly $64,000.

PocketFiver "ma77th3gr34t" had a huge win in the FTOPS Event #19, which was a $240+16 Knockout tournament. His outright victory was worth $146k, as he outlasted over 3,650 competitors. Darren "dabadestchic" Nelson (right) finished 9th in the FTOPS Event #19 for $7,300.

Not to be outdone, PocketFiver "aconsuma" placed 4th in the FTOPS $500+35 Main Event for $139k, as he came up just short after playing for 12 hours straight. Also making the FTOPS Main Event final table was "DEEZZZ_NUTS," who finished 7th for $61k.

Isaac "mr. menlo" Baron (top) continued his major online tournament dominance Sunday, with a win in the Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan over fellow P5'er Chris "LUHMAN" Martin. Isaac's victory was worth $47,700. Online tournament grinder "tnetter" cashed for $9,500 after ending up in 6th, and PocketFiver "Raoeoiku" collected $4,800 for 8th Place.

The Bodog $100k Guaranteed tournament saw PocketFivers finish in the top 4 spots, as "Koxi82" came out on top for $25,000. Colorful character John "JohnnyGStaks" Hayes (left), known for the Kid Robot hoodies he wears at live events, took home $14,300, after winning this tournament three weeks ago. PocketFives.com Triple Crown Winner Garrett "GBecks" Beckman finished in 3rd place for $9,200 and "payems" won $6,900 after being eliminated in 4th. Michael "SowersUNCC" Sowers had yet another major final table, ending his tournament life in 6th Place and earning $4,500.

The unique PokerStars Turbo Takedown attracted 9,600 players and paid out over 40% of the player field. For a buyin of 10,000 Frequent Player Points, P5'er "BleedBlue33" earned a paycheck of $80,000 for his 3rd Place finish. The PokerStars Sunday Million saw PocketFiver "Pappe_Ruk" make $14,200 for placing 8th in a tournament field of 7,900 players.

The Sunday Warm-Up was filled with P5'ers at the final table, headed by "xBryceyx" and "stevejpa," who won $41k and $32k for their respective 3rd and 4th Place finishes. Micah "mordan" Hendrix (right) took home $18,800 for 6th, "PureCash25" collected $13,600 for 7th, and "mychucks" rounded out the final table with a $5k score.

Seven PocketFivers made the final table of the PokerStars $200k Guaranteed 2nd Chance tournament, as "A6540" captured 1st Place for nearly $64,000. Coming in 2nd for $32k was "CapTinBisKuiT," and right behind him was "johnboiprodigy," who made $22,500 for his final table appearance. Earning $14k for 5th Place was "bhanks11," followed by "MikeCaroJr," who got 6th for $10,650. "Bcforrest" and "IronRing08" finished 7th and 8th respectively for $7,500 and $4,650.

The PokerStars $150k Guaranteed $215 Rebuy tournament saw more dominance from P5'ers, with "shini_333" earning $36k for Runner-Up. Long-time fan favorite Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken (left) finished in 3rd Place for $25k, as "ATM4Life" earned $14,500 for 5th. PocketFiver "game153" won $11,300 for his 6th Place showing.

The UltimateBet $200k Guaranteed was won by PocketFiver "Harris," adding $45,000 in bankroll, as "bukithepro" cashed for $13k for 4th Place. This Sunday's prize pools across the major poker sites were among the highest in online poker history, as PocketFivers put up impressive stats at major final tables. Among the winners on Sunday, was PocketFiver Craig "craigthedeac" Boyd (right), who took down the PokerStars 2nd Chance tournament for $63,600. In order to win, Craig had to go through P5'ers "AsianDude7" (who took 2nd Place for $32,400) and "Joao M," who won $18,100 for finishing 4th.

Three PocketFivers reached the final table of the coveted PokerStars Sunday Million Tournament this past Sunday. "SitAndStack" outlasted over more than 7,780 players and placed 5th, for a paycheck of $46,700. PocketFiver "xxunleashedxx" received $24,100 for his 7th Place finish, while "david_a" won $14,000 for 8th. The $500k Guaranteed "Sunday Warm Up" tournament on PokerStars saw two P5'ers score at the final table. "ATM4Life" won $31,700 for 4th Place and "donkeygoesHEEHAW" collected $13,300 for 7th.

Long-time PocketFiver Carl "colson10" Olson (left) dominated the action in the PokerStars $150k Guaranteed $215 rebuy tournament, taking home $56,600 for his victory in one of the most competitive fields on the Net. "EnoBaLL" made $15,400 in the same tournament for ending up in 5th Place, while popular PocketFivers "PearlJammer," "thorladen," and "Randers" rounded out the final table by finishing in 7th, 8th, and 9th Place respectively.

The UltimateBet $200k Guaranteed $200+15 buyin Sunday major was won by PocketFiver "8balldeluxe" (right), who took home $45,000 for his efforts. Right behind him were "bizaaar," who placed 2nd for $26,500, and "charder," who cashed in for $18,000 while placing 3rd. P5'er "TheNogre" finished in 5th Place and got $10,500 for his efforts, and "makeutap247" finished in 9th for $3,400.

The action heated up Sunday on Full Tilt, as the Full Tilt Online Poker Series took center stage. In a very large 2nd Place finish, PocketFiver "kochan" made a serious move for the top spot in the Australia Sortable Rankings by earning $176,700 in the $1 Million Guaranteed FTOPS Event #9. He was beaten out by well-known professional poker player Erick Lindgren. P5'ers "ryhenicee," "darrenelias," (below-left) and "gettin deep," also had seats at that huge final table, finishing 4th for $89k, 6th for $50k, and 8th for $30k.

The $150k Guaranteed FTOPS Event #8 quadrupled its guaranteed prize pool, as 6,000 participants competed for a shot at $600,000 in prize money. Taking home $48,700 for his 3rd Place finish was PocketFiver "kingwildcard," while "dprodigy" got $11,600 for 8th Place and "daisyxoxo" made $7,600 for 9th.

PocketFiver "TwistedEcho" took down the FullTilt $100k Guaranteed "Sunday Mulligan" tournament, which also featured a prize pool that more than doubled the guarantee. Super Bowl Sunday saw prize pools shrink a bit in the online majors, but there was still plenty of money to be won, and P5s Contributing Writer Alex "AJKHoosier" Kamberis (left) made a big score in one of the bigger Sunday events. Kamberis was the runner up in the PokerStars $200 Rebuy, which was worth more than $30k.

Also making a final table in that same tournament were PocketFivers "Potroast" (above), whose 3rd Place finish earned him $20,700, along with ChipSteela and Ruprikkt.

Well-known P5's member Jason "Mkind16" (left) Laso continued his hot tournament streak, placing 3rd in the UltimateBet $200k Guaranteed for $18,500. The UB $200k showcased three other PocketFives.com members at the final table -- Priit, who made $28,000 for his 2nd Place finish, along with SassyTexan and AawwNutz, who finished 8th and 9th respectively.

P5'er "CobaltBlue" captured a victory in the Bodog $100k Guaranteed that netted him a $25,000 paycheck. "People_Mover" and "bearbeer" were also at the $100k Guar. final table. "TjeckRacer" and "bastet" represented the site well in the PartyPoker $300k Guaranteed tournament by placing 4th and 9th respectively.

Full Tilt showcased a $500k Guaranteed tournament this past Sunday, and PocketFiver "joeramos333" won $14k for his 7th Place finish.  Big name P5'er Todd "NSXT2" Arnold made the $500k final table as well and received $8,170 for 9th Place.  For FullTitPoker's Sunday Mulligan tournament, Off Topic Forum poster "pokerjamers" won nearly $9k for his 5th Place showing, while "Arbianight" got 7th for $4,200 and "mindgamer" got 9th for $2,600.

The FullTiltPoker Sunday Brawl featured a total of five PocketFivers at the final table, with "gettin deep" headlining the action with a 2nd Place finish for $41,600.  Site member "hitthehole" finished in 4th for $24,500, with "GBecks," "JDsmith9," and "shini_333" rounding out the final table with 7th, 8th, and 9th Place finishes.

The action on PokerStars began before network pre-game coverage of Super Bowl XVII, and the Sunday Warmup featured PocketFiver "Superfluous Man" at the final table, whose 7th Place finish earned him almost $13k.

The PokerStars Sunday Million was hardly affected by the Super Bowl, as 6,266 players participated in their weekly flagship tournament. PocketFiver "wildman75" came away with a $67,500 score for placing 3rd. Fellow member "meltedtime," who goes by "jamb0ne" on Stars, won nearly $29k for 6th, while former PocketFives.com Podcast guest "stpauli111" made $12,500 for coming in 8th.  The Stars 2nd Chance final table saw "dankness3" finish 5th for $11k and "Quads420" finish 6th for $8,400.

Tournament Review for 1-27-2008

A recent guest on the PocketFives.com Podcast, 19-year-old Brian "SN8WMAN" Hawkins has only recently started receiving props for being one of the top online tournament players. He recently broke into the Rankings at number 98, and he will be moving up quite a bit after his most recent win. That win came in the biggest weekly poker tournament in the world, the PokerStars Sunday Million. The prize pool was closer to $1.6M, and the top prize was over $278k!

Two other P5ers were at the final table of the Million as well. Those two P5ers were jono5656 and mordan, who finished 7th and 8th respectively.

Just last week, we wrote about P5s moderator Anbessa finishing 2nd in the Sunday Warm Up. This week he made another huge score, taking down the $200k Guaranteed on UltimateBet for over $48k. That brings his total over the course of a week to over $100k in cashes--quite an accomplishment! P5er texasblake took 3rd for $19.4k, and Sunday Major guru Brainwash finished 5th. Somehow in between hands in the Sunday Million, SN8WMAN was able to keep an eye on the UB event too, and he took 9th place for $3,713.

Rdcrsn (left) gets his picture in the Tournament Review for the second straight week after having yet another huge Sunday, which included a chop of the $200 rebuy with last week's winner, P0KERPR033. He also won the "Grand" $1k event on PokerRoom for an enormous $141k payday. This is the second consecutive Sunday in which he's cashed for over $100k! Others at the final table of that $200 rebuy included mr. menlo, who took 3rd, cmmjjt (5th), and goodvibe (8th), the top-ranked player in Germany.

The Second Chance event on Stars also saw a member of this site take the top prize. Rjmgrace won all of $58,675 for first place, edging out two other P5ers in the final three. Jagz7 was the runner up, taking over $29k, and trackcitylad came in 3rd for over $20k. Bigmoneystud was the one other P5er at the final table, and he took 6th for just under $10k.

Pete "TheBeat" Giordano (right) is back in a big way, as he took 3rd in the Sunday Warm Up this week for just under $44k. Skanky980 was at the final table as well, earning $14.5k for 7th, and Great_ape, the seventh ranked player in Belgium, took 8th for over $9k.

A recent addition to the PocketFives.com community made a big score in the $300k Guaranteed event on PartyPoker. Less than two weeks after joining the site, casinoice finished atop the leaderboard in one of the week's biggest events--congrats! Casinoice was already the top-ranked player in Iceland, and this win will add some padding to an already sizeable lead.

In this week's Full Tilt $750k Guaranteed, P5er JSchnett took 3rd place for over $62k, finishing just above two fellow members of the community. 4th and 5th places were occupied by downosaur and Moorman1, who earned $48k and $36k respectively. P5s Contributing Writer Bryan "Squirrely1" Sapp finished 7th for over $20k.

JohnnyGStaks (left) had a solid win this weekend as well. He managed to finish at the very top of the field in the Bodog $100k Guaranteed, earning $25k. Other P5ers at the final table were flmodesq21 and basebaldy, both of whom finished in the top four.

In the Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan, P5er mdv85 nearly took the top prize, earning $26k for 2nd place. Moorman1 made the final table as well after already making the final table of the $750k Guaranteed. With his second cash tacked on, he cashed for over $51k on the day.

And in Full Tilt's Sunday Brawl, we got to see yet another P5er win a major. Gutshtallin (ryanwelch on Full Tilt) took it down for over $68k, defeating fellow P5er comandr_cool in the heads up match. Just two spots further down the list was FULLMIKETILT, who won $25k for fourth, and SirWatts was next, cashing for $19k.
