Tournament Review for 10-29-2006

By P5s Staff | Published Oct 30 2006, 02:05 AM
There's lots of news to report about this Sunday's tournament action, and first, we'd like to make sure everyone sees that we're now including a couple more tournaments from PokerStars in this report.  There's enough action on that site on Sundays to satisfy all of your higher buy in cravings, and we'd like to make sure people who do well in those events get the recognition they deserve.

That recognition starts with ZEKAgrinder (pictured) this week, who plays on Stars as KA@tntech.  He took fourth in the Sunday Million, which was a $500 buy in this week.  Not only that, he satellited into this event for $25, which he promptly turned into $65k!  Ansky451, who plays on Stars as supernova9, took 8th for $25k.

Some of the other PokerStars action included the $100 rebuy, which always draws a crowd on Sundays.  This time it paid $34k to first, and P5er hard2tel was the happy recipient of that prize.  Isuck123 and SBRounder were both right behind, taking 2nd and 3rd respectively.  FlyingSumo took 5th, Charder took 7th, and Flatlus (Erik82) finished in 9th.

The $200 rebuy results were just as impressive for our members, with kwob20, WINTERS25, and gboro780 taking the top 3 prizes in order.  Foshio finished 5th in this one, Flatlus took 7th, and Huey (Brett Favre on Stars) ended up in 9th.

One other PokerStars tournament to talk about was the $200 Second Chance event.  Bigdogpckt5s was the third place finisher in this one, receiving nearly $19k.  Cap'nJackpot finished 4th, A6540 took 6th, and mathcamp ended up 9th.

There were a few tournaments on other sites as well, of course.  Bodog nearly hit its $100k Guarantee for the first time ever, still having a $1k overlay after 990 people signed up.  This is the most that have ever played in this event, and hopefully it's a sign of great things to come on that site!

Full Tilt's $250k is another tournament that continues to grow.  This week it had more than $350k in the prizepool, and P5er AJKHoosier1 was at the final table, finishing in 8th place for about $7.5k.

UltimateBet still had a small overlay (about $7k) it its $200k Guaranteed.  They did get participation up to 966 entrants, so they're definitely moving towards bigger prize pools and more money!  Amazingly, MiracleGro finished 3rd for the second consecutive week in this event!  He took $18k for his efforts this week after yet an another amazing performance.  By the way, sideshowbobbb got 6th in this one, dlperrio, a steady performer on many sites of late, took 8th  for $4,500, and bustarimes (blackness1 on UB) took 9th.

Congrats to everyone who did well this weekend!  Here are the Sunday results:
