Again this weekend, some of the prizepools hit record heights.  The PokerStars $500+30 event had a prize pool of over $700k, with first prize getting $164k of that, and the UltimateBet $200+15 had a record 731 entrants in its final week of having a $100k guarantee.

The highest finishing ranked players from PocketFives.com in the ¼ million guaranteed on PartyPoker were RazeIt, TheWachovia, and acesfull23, finishing 59th, 82nd, and 113th respectively, all in the money.  We make special note of the money finish by acesfull23, since last week he made the final tables on UltimateBet (2nd) and PokerStars (7th), and this week he made the final table on Paradise (3rd).  He is on a great run and has now made the money in all 4 of the biggest tournaments in the last 2 weeks, including 3 final tables.

The highest ranked finisher on PokerStars this week was Riverloser (40th).  A couple other noteables who made it far in that one were The Hat (10th) and Vandiesel (13th).  Vandiesel is noteable as the 6th place finisher in the 2004 WCOOP main event on PokerStars, as well as a 4th place finish in one of the big Sunday tournaments there in the past.  The Hat is noteable from this weekend in particular, as he had the following finishes on Sunday:
      -4th in Paradise $100k Guaranteed $200+15
      -2nd in Paradise $50k Guaranteed $30 Rebuy
      -10th in PokerStars $500k Guaranteed $500+30
Nice run there for The Hat, we hope to see more of him.

In the UltimateBet $100k Guaranteed $200+15 event, PocketFives.com blogger, LatestLines2, nearly reached the final table, finishing in 18th place.  Another ranked player and friend of the site, Lucky Egg, was really unfortunate.  He was chip leader with about 90k and had K2 on the big blind when the flop came A2K.  He ended up all in against the eventually winner, Walkin_Man, who held A9.  A diamond came on the turn, leaving Walkin_Man with only 4 outs, but an A hit the river, crippling Lucky Egg.  The pot was about 130k, and he would have had a 2 to 1 chip lead over the second place stack with about 35 remaining had he won it.  Instead, after hanging on for a short while, he busted out in 29th place.
