The "Sunday Million" on PokerStars has broken records before, and this week, it eclipsed 10,000 entrants on its one year anniversary! The guarantee was $1.5M for the occasion, but the premise was the same--players of all limits had the opportunity to cheaply win their way into the event.
Two P5ers made the final table of the anniversary special. Othimua was part of a 5-way chop that landed each of the top five finishers a six-figure payout. Pbdrunks (pictured) lost a race with QQ vs. AK to go out in 9th place.
Several other P5ers won tournaments this weekend, including some of the PokerStars events. Manub took down the Sunday Warm Up, which was worth just over $72k. DrewDowns24 was the winner in the 2nd Chance $200, and in fact, each of the top five finishers in that event were P5ers. The next four behind him were GrinderMJ, The-Toilet, Raoeoiku, and kismet28. One other P5er reached the final table, and that was big$bond, who ended up taking 9th place.
One other winner in a Stars event was Davidp18 (left), who's shown to be one of the top closers in the big Sunday events. He had to beat P5ers stronghandle and Crazy Cypriot in the final three, and several other top players and P5ers were also at the final table. Former Sunday Million winner ocrowe finished 5th, and online legend GigaBet was right behind him, taking 6th. COMPLICATED and dankness3 finished 7th and 8th respectively.
The UltimateBet $200k Guaranteed had a nice overlay of just over $24k this week, and P5er JCarver took it down for $45k. Trent55 took 3rd for $18,500, and Big Jew was right behind, finishing 4th. Long time UB champion brsavage was the 7th place finisher, and dmmikkel and x2then were both present as well in the final stretch.
One P5er made the final table on Bodog in the $100k Guaranteed, which once again had a sizeable overly over nearly $25k. Illuminati was the one who made it through the field, and he ended up finishing 3rd.
On Full Tilt in the $400k Guaranteed $200 buy in event, P5er parisla took 3rd place for over $31k. TrueR0under and AceLove007 finished 7th and 9th respectively.
