Hi everyone this will be my first blog:
What I hope to accomplish here is basically to go over some thoughts I have for the day/week about mostly NLHD -MTT's games. I'd like to share some situations that you can give me your input on and vice versus and basically anything poker!!! I've been playing online poker for over 5 years but just recently thought of it as a "job". I always strive to be the best at what I do so I hope this opens my horizon.
I think a huge part of poker is keeping a level head during a tournament. Venting some of your frustrations for those long hours of grinding on a computer screen can be very helpful imo. I hope this blog will help me even more, but I still believe nothing works like a good physical activity....its gets your mind of poker and really releases stress. I had a gym in my house but I just recently moved into my new apartment in Queens village, Philadelphia and will be joining the local gym very soon.
So basically if your here you know I recently won the "Sunday Warmup" for 1st place and $105,000. This by far exceeded my previous highest cash of $7,150 on Bodog, $5,500 on UlimateBet, and two 6k scores on Pokerstars. The lastest of those scores being in Pokerstars----April 1st "Daily 50 Grand" ---4th place for $5,100 and July 31st "Daily 80 Grand" --4th place. On the 80k final table i got busted by A8 vs. my 99. In this final table I came into the final as one of the 4 large 6-million or so chip stacks, my plan was to stay tight in the beginning and hopefully run into some big hands versus the smaller stacks and/or just play very conservative, even with the top hands. Well in no time it got down to 5 after a huge upset that knocked out 2 players one with KK and the other ??? But I believe the A9 hit and held. (this maybe be partially incorrect I'm going on memory). At 5 there was one stack that had about a million or so and after he was knocked out all 4 of the remaining players were at about 8 million. I thought suggesting to look at the numbers would be smart idea, basically to recollect my thoughts from how fast we got to 4 people. We all agreed to see them and then "Jschett" said he did not want to chop..... so we battled on!
"Mattster24" was the first to to get knocked out suffering a badbeat, one which I don't remember but he wasn't too happy about it, which is understandable. I believe people thought that he was going to take it. Coookay was next to get knocked out after he and Jschnett went all in. Coookay was left with about 2 million chips and was soon gone, he played a good game, very aggressive, he was a monster chip leader earlier with about 600k to the next guys 300k and he most likely far exceeded his expectations.
Head up vs. Jschnett took a considerable amount of time. I had about a 22-million to 11-million (or 2 to 1) on him heads up. I basically wanted to raise a lot in the SB with medicore cards and see if I could get him to about 3 to 1 and then I could really increase the range of hands I can play. He played solid though, re-raising me when I was weak--- so I bailed on that plan. I then decided to play only top hands (at this point any PP and any Ace or King). This seemed to work for a little bit but it wasn't giving me the desired effect I wanted heads up. I then remembered that when he called in the Small Blind and I quick raised to 3x the amount he was jamming all in. I did this with AJs and he low and behold he jammed with A3o.....I was very excited to see that hand. The flop came 789....10....I thought oh man I won the "Sunday Warm-up" are you kidding me!!!!! I didn't even notice until we hand another hand that a Jack hit the river for a split pot!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( actually it wasn't that surprising to me, one thing I've became accustom to in my poker career are bad beats! Everyone has the stories, but I always feel I never getting the big hand to hold when I really need it!!! I know this sound a bit whiney but let me explain that I've had over 15-20....$3,000-$4,000 wins and just couldn't seem like I could crack the big one. Alright on with the game. About 3 hands later he once again called in the SB and I insta-reraised again to 3x....he insta-jammed again..... I insta-called and my J_J held vs. A_3o. Stick the cards in the money,
I hope I was accurate as possible and no hard feelings :) Just thought this would make a great first post :) Good luck Everyone and thank you in advance :) I will be posting from time to time. Thanks
