On Wednesday, PokerStars, the largest online poker site in the world, announced the schedule for the 2014 Spring Championship of Online Poker, or SCOOP as it’s more commonly called. The series will run from May 4 to May 18 and guarantee $40 million. View the schedule here.

As a press release from the site announced, “For the first time ever, there will be three events every day of the championship, re-entry tournaments, and Progressive Super-Knockouts, which have proved very popular.” The 2014 SCOOP schedule boasts 18 different games in 15 different formats, 13 tournaments with a guarantee of at least $1 million, and 90 tournaments with a guarantee of at least $100,000. There are 45 events, or 135 individual tournaments.

The SCOOP Main Event will take place on May 18 with buy-ins of $109 (Low), $1,050 (Medium), and $10,300 (High) and guarantees of $1 million, $2 million, and $3 million, respectively. If you’re not familiar with the series’ format, each SCOOP event consists of three tournaments with Low, Medium, and High buy-ins. In essence, there’s a tournament for every budget every day.

PokerStars officials are predicting that the 2014 SCOOP will be the richest in the series’ history. As the same press release explained, “Last year’s SCOOP is still the richest online poker championship series ever held, with a total of $75,585,435.05 awarded to players across 132 tournaments. With three extra tournaments this year, there are high expectations that it will beat last year’s total to set a new record.”

The opening event of the 2014 SCOOP is a No Limit Hold’em Six-Max event that has buy-ins of $27, $215, and $2,100. For players who excel in that tournament and others on the SCOOP schedule, PokerStars will host a variety of leaderboardswith prizes that include SCOOP trophies, PCA packages, and WCOOP tickets.

In 2013, Viktor Isildur1Blom (pictured) won the High-Stakes Main Event for over $1 million. Pros like Daniel Negreanu also won SCOOP events and $75 million was awarded to PokerStars players.
