The 2019 partypoker MILLIONS Online has a chance to break the record for the largest online tournament ever.

One year after breaking the record for the largest online poker tournament prize pool of all-time, partypoker is hoping to do it again. The 2019 partypoker MILLIONS Online begins on Sunday and just like last year, the guaranteed prize pool is $20 million.

Breaking the record will be no easy feat. The tournament, which has a $10,300 buy-in this year to bring the event in line the live MILLIONS events, will need to draw 2,179 players to push past the $21,780,000 prize pool that the partypoker MILLIONS had last year when it set the record with a $5,300 buy-in.

Outside of the 2018 partypoker MILLIONS, no other tournament in online poker history has eclipsed the $13 million mark. The next closest tournament was the PokerStars Sunday Million 10th Anniversary held back in December of 2011 which collected a $12.4 million prize pool, a record which stood for nearly seven years.

The event features four starting flights giving players plenty of opportunities to build a stack should they bust out an earlier flight. Day 1A takes place on Sunday, December 1 and Day 1B takes place one week later on Sunday, December 8. The final two starting flights, Day 1C and 1D, take place the very next day on December 9.

To encourage players to play Day 1A, partypoker is offering a $1 million bonus to any player who bags the chip lead from that flight and goes on to win the tournament. The only catch is that any decision to make a deal at the final table – as was the case last year when Manuel ‘Sheparentao’ Ruivo and Pim ‘ForMatherRussia’ De Goede split up $4.64 million – would eliminate the possibility of earning the $1 million bonus.

A $1,050 Mega Satellite runs on December 1 and 8 and each will award a minimum of 50 MILLIONS Online seats. Various other satellites will run until December 9 and partypoker has awarded more than $1 million worth of free tickets over the past month to help build the field.
