In case you missed it, Jake 7DeLuXWilkins (pictured) is becoming a part of the PocketFives team. Wilkins is set to co-host the PocketFives.com Podcast, a weekly recap of the latest tournament news along with interviews of some of poker’s biggest names and brightest players. What are Wilkins’ credentials? First, he was a recent guest on the show and his two-part interviewhit one out of the park. He is also the owner of three PocketFives Triple Crowns and has over $1.5 million in career online tournament cashes to accompany his #510 worldwide ranking.

Coming off last week’s installment of the Podcast, we approached Wilkins about joining the team as a co-host. He explained, “We got to talking after the interview. I like to be involved, especially with something I know has helped me along the way. I’d be lying if I said that PocketFives.com didn’t help me get to this point.”

Wilkins has turned over a new leaf in 2011 and will now become firmly entrenched in the online poker community. He told PocketFives.com, “I just got reconnected and made some new great friends. This year is all about me being more responsible and getting my foot in the right doors, so I’m up for the challenge.” His largest cash tracked by PocketFives.com came back in January 2009, when he finished second in a $200 buy-in tournament on UB.com for $29,000.

Like Wilkins said, he’s ready to reconnect with the PocketFives.com community. He’s been incredibly eager whenever we’ve asked for an interview or a comment about a hot topic and he’ll now bring a unique high-stakes perspective to the weekly show. “PocketFives.com is as much a social network as it is a poker site and getting people involved just makes them more interesting,” Wilkins asserted. “I’m excited to bring new life and some real MTT exposure to the Podcast. I’ve had the privilege of meeting a ton of PocketFivers all over the country that I can connect with.”

In a thread in Poker Discussion, PocketFives.com Chief Editor David dhubermexHuber told the world that he was elated to bring Wilkins on board: “Having Jake on the show in this capacity will provide our listeners with insight from a current high-stakes MTT professional grinder who will interact with our featured guests.” Congratulating our new host in the same thread was wackyJaxon (pictured), who chimed in, “Good addition for co-host! Personally would like to listen to a show from someone going for Supernova Elite and [hear about] some of the stresses involved.”

Wilkins’ broadcasting experience comes from junior high and high school. He elaborated, “I was more into the TV side of things and was a big film guy.”

We’ve had a variety of newsmakers on the PocketFives.com Podcast including former World Series of Poker Main Event champions Joe jcada99 Cada (pictured), Chris Moneymaker, and Doyle Brunson. We’ve also had the privilege of welcoming a variety of U.S. lawmakers like Barney Frank (D-MA), Shelley Berkley (D-NV), and former Presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-TX).
