888 Poker Raises BLAST Poker Max Prize to $1M for Holiday Season
Earlier this year, 888 launched its own take on the popular jackpot Sit & Go format called BLAST Poker, a four-handed, super-turbo No Limit Hold’em SNG which offers potential prize pools of up to 10,000X the buy-in. For the holidays, however, the online gaming giant is sweetening the pot with a special promo that will more than triple the maximum possible jackpot amount.
For one week, starting on December 26, BLAST players will have the chance to trigger prize pools up to a massive $1 million, a steep increase from the previous max of $300,000.
How to Play
At the start of each BLAST game, a multiplier of 2X to 10,000X is chosen at random and applied to the prize pool. That number also determines the blind structure, prize pool distribution and the amount of time set on the BLAST timer.
The timer is 888’s novel twist on the jackpot SNG format, and increases the game’s luck factor while eliminating any skill advantage players might hold over their opponents. Once the clock runs out, the game automatically puts players all-in every hand until a winner is crowned.
The higher the prize pool multiplier, the more time is added to the timer. Bigger pots also mean more places are paid: 2X games are winner take all while 1,000X-10,000X games award each player at least 10%.
Recent Jackpots
Since its launch in July, BLAST has paid out a number of hefty jackpots to lucky 888 players. In August, ‘lepeno78’ walked away with $90,000 after his $15 SNG was supercharged with a 10,000X multiplier. A week later, ‘723bluebell’ entered a $30 buy-in table and pocketed $180,000 after a 10,000X multiplier was drawn for his BLAST game as well.
In November, $300,000 and $50,000 jackpots were hit on the same weekend. Sweden’s ‘bucopepic’ took home the $180,000 first-place payout in the $30 buy-in game, with runner-up ‘sreutov’ from Russia received $60,000. The third and fourth place finishers didn’t go home empty-handed either, each banking $30,000.
Malaysia’s ‘Mn79Ben’ walked away with a $30,000 win in the $5 buy-in game, after being dealt pocket queens on the final all-in hand. ‘mario868116’ from Russia banked $10,000 for second, while fourth and fifth place each received $5,000.
The $1 million BLAST promo is available for a limited time only. To enter, first create an 888poker account then register for a BLAST SNG by clicking the BLAST tab in the far right side of the software client navigation bar. BLAST games are offered at the $0.10, $1, $5, $15 and $30 buy-in levels, with the $5 and $30 buy-in games yielding the biggest jackpots to date.
