Every year the World Series of Poker holds massive mega satellites to the Main Event and this year will be no different.

Players fly in from all over the world and hop in these events in an effort to win their way into the Main Event for 1/10th the cost, putting up $1000 in hopes of earning a $10,000 seat.

It’s not just amateurs that go this route, winning a seat into the Main Event (or any tournament) is incredibly +EV, especially when you are given a chance to take home a multi-million dollar score. For many who play in the live satellite, if they fail to win a seat, they may just buy-in anyway. For the rest though, playing in a live satellite for a 1-in-10 shot just isn’t a possibility. 888poker gives you that same opportunity online.

The Buy-In

This is it – it’s the direct satellite to the Main Event and with it comes the biggest buy-in of $1,050. As we’ve noted throughout this series, this is by no means the starting point to win a seat. In fact, it’s the very last step. So, if players prefer to try and win a couple of other tickets in order to get into this contest for less, the steps system starts for as little as $0.01. However, there are additional more bankroll-friendly steps along with way from $5 to $109 and price points in between.

The majority of super satellites to the $1,050 are priced at $109 – which we highlighted earlier in the series – but satellites can be found for as low as $30. Look for satellites with multiple seats guaranteed, as some offer as many as five spots into the $1,050.

Get In The Game

The $1,050 direct satellite to the 2019 World Series of Poker Main Event can be found in the Live Events > Tournaments tab in the 888poker client.

The $1,050 is not a tournament you can just hop into like the majority of satellites that come before it. They are taking place on Sundays at 20:30 GMT, in the middle of the weekend tournament grind. For reference as to how big these tournaments get, in a previous qualifier, 40 entries gave away three $12,600 packages with cash being given to 4th-6th place.

What You Win

If you take down a top spot in the $1,050 satellite to the 2019 World Series of Poker Main Event, you’ve made it. You get the entire package: a $10,000 seat into the Main Event, six nights stay at the 5-star Vdara Hotel in Las Vegas and $1K in extra cash to help you get there.

The only thing you have left to do is book a flight, pack those bags, get your mind right and join other 888poker qualifiers like ‘FlatTopTony’, ‘CBruell’ and ‘chiquidealer’ in making the most out of your journey.

The Main Event has three starting flights, the first of which kicks off on July 3 at 12:00 noon local time.

Tournament Info

In the final step of the satellites, the structure is slightly better than every tournament that came before it. Players still get 5,000 in starting chips but get 10 minutes per level.

If you have the bankroll and determination, there are two optional rebuys if you go broke. The rebuy is a rake-free $1K giving you 5000 more chips and it is available for the first 2 hours.

The Main Event qualifier needs a minimum of 6 players in order to take place, but that should never be a problem. They only take place once per week with players qualifying throughout the entire week. Additionally, on a Sunday, some players with fewer bankroll concerns are likely to buy-in directly.

With some of the lower buy-in satellites, there may be a shot at some overlay, not here. In this tournament, there will likely be multiple seats up for grabs so simply pick the best time for you to jump in.
