Russia’s Andrey Zaichenko began day 6 of the 2014 World Series of Poker with 3,565,000 in chips, which placed him near the top of the pack tied for 20th place with 79 players remaining. He is known as Zayaon PocketFives and plays online poker under the user name Kroko-dill. He finished the 2014 WSOP Main Event in 17th place for $347,000.

Zaichenko had $1.3 million in live tournament cashes to his name heading into the 2014 Main Event, with his biggest Main Event finish coming in 2012 when he took 232nd place for almost $45,000.

In April 2008, Zaichenko finished in second place in a €2,100 EPT Grand Final event for just over $136,000. He followed that up a couple of months later with a seventh place finished in a World Series of Poker $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event for just over $112,000 in June 2008.

Zaichenko’s only recorded live poker tournament win came in June 2009 when he won the $1,080 Bellagio Summer Daily for about $40,000.

Zaichenko’s biggest live tournament cash prior heading into the 2014 World Series of Poker was back in 2011 when he took third place in a $10,000 HORSE event for almost $258,000.

Zaichenko ended Day 5 of the 2014 Main Event with one of the bigger cooler hands that came against American poker player Michael Aron. With the blinds at 20,000/40,000, Aron went all-in with pocket queens and was called by Zaichenko, who was holding pocket jacks.

The flop innocently came out As-4d-Th, keeping Aron in the lead. Luck was on Zaichenko’s side when a jack appeared on the turn, giving him a set on a hand he was a huge underdog on when the chips were all-in pre-flop. The 7h on the river did not improve Aron’s hand, sending him to the rail to end Day 6, while Zaichenko watched his stack grow to almost 3.6 million right before all the remaining players bagged their chips to end the day.
