On Monday night, Day 6 of the Full TiltOnline Poker Series IX featured two events. To say that FTOPS IX has been a rousing success for the online poker room wouldn’t even begin to describe the popularity of the tournament series. The first event attracted 5,779 players, among the largest FTOPS tournaments ever played. There have been a total of 21,833 registrations so far and we’re not even half way through. On Monday night, PocketFiver Ben bfineman Fineman (pictured) took down Event #12 of FTOPS IX, a $1,060 buy-in no limit hold’em six-max tournament, picking up $300,000. Members of the online poker community also dominated Event #11 on Monday night, which was a $200 Limit Holdem event.

Fineman’s win marked the fifth victory by a PocketFiver in the 12 events that have comprised the FTOPS so far. CapTinBisKuiT took home $45,360 for winning Event #3, ryanghall won nearly $160,000 for taking down Event #4, ryanbluf won $121,000 for victory in Event #8, and shaundeeb pocketed $115,014 for winning Event #9. Fineman (pictured at right) wasted little time taking care of business in the $1,060 No Limit Hold’em six-handed event. Entering final table play last in chips, he battled back.

Fineman’s $300,000 payday was just a couple of days removed from a win in Full Tilt Poker’s $65,000 Guaranteed tournament, where he pocketed $17,000 for his efforts. In the 12 days of August, he’s logged 18 cashes in tournaments that count for the PocketFives.com Worldwide Rankings for a total of just over $50,000. On the live poker circuit, he finished second in a World Series of Poker Circuit Event at Caesars Palace in April for $257,637. He had three cashes at the 2008 WSOP, raising his lifetime WSOP and Circuit Event earnings to $457,233.

Event #11, a $200 Limit Hold’em tournament, attracted a crowd of 932 players. Four PocketFivers reached the final table of this tournament, which had a $200,000 guarantee attached to it. The group was paced by schwah, who finished second and took home $28,500. This rising online poker star from Madison, Wisconsin finished third in the Full Tilt Poker Sunday Mulligan last month, taking home $24,000. He has multiple cashes in the PokerStars Sunday Second Chance and also finished in the money in the third event of FTOPS IX.

Matt BigMich08 Glassley finished fourth in Event #11, taking home $16,500. The Charleston, South Carolina native also cashed in Event #8 of FTOPS IX. He won the $14,000 Guaranteed on Full Tilt Poker in June, turning his $69 buy-in into $3,674.25. He also finished fifth in the $109 buy-in $20,000 Guarantee on PokerStars for $2,329.60. In his PocketFives Profile, he notes that he is mainly a cash game player. Perhaps this $16,500 payday in FTOPS IX will change that.

Finishing fifth in Event #11 was siphon3511, who won $12,500 for his efforts in the limit hold’em tournament. He’s had a bevy of sizable cashes online, including a $35,360 payday for finishing second in the Sunday Second Chance on PokerStars in May. Exactly one year ago today, he finished eighth in the Sunday Million, taking home $13,086. His poker resume includes wins in the Full Tilt Poker $33,000 Guarantee (one rebuy plus one add-on) for $11,975 as well as the $100 Turbo Hundo on Full Tilt for $5,319.

Rounding out the list of PocketFivers who reached the final table of Event #11 of FTOPS IX was jbball103, who landed in eighth place for $4,500. In May, jbball103 captured first place in a $50 buy-in $13,500 Guaranteed (one rebuy plus one add-on) tournament on Full Tilt Poker for nearly $4,500. He won the same tournament two months earlier for just over $4,000. He also took down the $100 buy-in $12,500 Guarantee on Full Tilt for $4,132.50.

The FTOPS continues today with a trio of events. At 2:00pm ET, a $216 buy-in half Pot Limit Hold'em, half Pot Limit Omaha event kicks off. If Pot Limit tournaments aren’t your cup of tea, there’s a $535 buy-in HORSE event that starts at 9:00pm ET. Also beginning at 9:00pm ET is a $216 Turbo No Limit tournament. Today’s three tournaments offer a grand total of one million dollars in guarantees.

The FTOPS runs between now and Sunday, when the $535 Main Event takes place on Full Tilt Poker. PocketFives.com will be highlighting the accomplishments of all of our members in the high-stakes poker series.
