The lone tournament to wrap up on Thursday at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas was Event #11, $2,500 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max. Headlining the final table was Scott BigRiskkyClements (pictured), already the owner of two WSOP bracelets. He entered heads-up play against 22-year-old Levi Berger nearly deadlocked in chips.

Berger churned ahead after winning a sizable pot off Clements 10 hands into heads-up play. In it, Clements check-called a bet from Berger on the river of a K-J-10-9-3 three-spade board and watched as Berger rolled over A-Q for Broadway. Clements mucked and was suddenly nearly a 2:1 dog.

Six hands later, Clements 4bet shoved with 10-9 on a flop of 8-7-2, but watched as Berger called and showed pocket kings. Clements needed a jack or a six for a straight or running cards to continue, but a 4 and a 5 fell on the turn and river, respectively, and Clements was eliminated in second place for $292,000.

Clements won a $3,000 Omaha High-Low Split tournament in 2006 for his first bracelet and $301,000. The following year, he won a $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha title for $194,000 and bracelet #2. He finished 18th in the 2010 Main Event and won the World Poker Tour’s North American Poker Championship in 2007 for $1.3 million. He has $5.5 million in career live tournament earnings according to the Hendon Mob and was #15 on the 2007 money list.

PocketFiver Jacob bazeman Bazeley (pictured) was also at the Six-Max final table on Thursday and committed his chips with Q-J on a flop of Q-3-2. Berger showed pocket threes for a set and had Bazeley drawing dead by the turn. Bazeley picked up $82,000 and amazingly has finished in the money in three WSOP events so far.
