Not one, not two, not three, but four events took place on Friday in the PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online Poker. One of the big headlines of the day was one player winning his second COOP title.

buzzard1881took down Event #6 of the 2016 TCOOP, an $82 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max Shootout. There were almost 1,700 entrants and players had to win their first two tables in order to make the money. After ‘buzzard1881’ eliminated two of the first three players from the final table, a deal was hashed out and $2,000 was left to play for. ‘buzzard1881’ eliminated his final two opponents to take home $17,000 and the second COOP title of his career.

His other COOP title came in a 2013 WCOOP HORSE event that had a buy-in of $320. ‘buzzard1881’ typed into the chat box during the deal-making process, “biggest holdem score im a fish.” Oh yeah.

Event #5, which also took place on Friday, was an $82 Pot Limit Omaha Progressive Super Knockout that drew 1,649 entrants, a very similar number to the field of Event #6. Serbia’s ‘bokinjo‘ was the winner in this one, earning $10,000 plus a few hundred dollars in bounties. It took less than two hours for the 1,649-man field to be trimmed to under 100 and the entire affair lasted four hours. Christian ‘CMoosepower’ Elgstrom, the 2014 TCOOP Player of the Series, finished sixth.

In Event #7, Brazil captured its second 2016 TCOOP title, as Bruno ‘bruno chato’ Nunes took down a $27 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Rebuy for $49,000. There were 4,084 entrants, 6,224 rebuys, and 2,590 add-ons, which meant a total prize pool that passed $300,000. Nunes drew out on J-9 with J-6 in the final hand of the tournament after turning a six for a pair.

Bruno ‘bruno chato’ Nunes won TCOOP Event #7

The storyline in Event #8 on Friday was a comeback win for ‘LuckboxStami‘, who was down 3:1 in chips heads-up in the $82 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Big Antes Optional Re-Entry event. There was almost an hour delay heads-up while a deal was discussed, but ultimately none occurred. Six hands later, the tournament was over after the 9-6 suited of ‘IvanHaldi‘ couldn’t draw out on A-8. First place was worth $48,000. There were 3,075 entrants and 1,055 re-entries.
