It’s almost time for the 2012 World Series of Poker (WSOP). The tournament series kicks off at the end of May from Las Vegas and bwin, which makes its home on the Ongame Network, is sending players to it in earnest. Text found on bwin’s website heralds, “The World Series of Poker is poker’s biggest annual feast. Every summer, poker’s kings and queens descend on Las Vegas for a menagerie of side dishes as they prepare for the main course – the Main Event. This is your chance to prove you belong at the head of the table with the rest of poker’s royalty.”

bwin is offering two types of WSOP packages this year. The first is a $14,000 Main Event package, which includes the featured tournament’s $10,000 buy-in, $2,050 for accommodation with breakfast, and $1,950 for travel and spending money. It’s quite generous and bwin will even put you up at the Palazzo, which is located on the famed Las Vegas Strip, for the duration of your stay.

You can also claim a $4,000 Side Event package on bwin. These will send players to Event #59 of the 2012 WSOP, a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament that starts on July 4th. In addition to your Side Event buy-in, the package includes $1,435 for accommodation with breakfast and $1,565 for travel and spending money. You’ll also be put up at the Palazzo.

bwin began running WSOP qualifiers on April 11th, and they’ll continue to appear in the poker site’s lobby until June 10th. In order to locate them, just open up your bwin client and click on the “Scheduled Tournaments” tab. Then, look for any tournament with “Live Event Qualifier,” “Main Event Final,” or “Side Event Final” in the name.

The Main Event Finals are $320 and run on Sundays at 20:00 GMT+2. These Finals guarantee at least one $14,000 package for the 2012 WSOP Main Event. The Side Event Finals are also $320 and take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 20:00 GMT+2. Two $4,000 Side Event packages are guaranteed in each Side Event Final.

Qualifiers on bwin for the 2012 WSOP begin at $2.20 and run through June 10th.

The 2012 WSOP schedule features a slate of 61 tournaments, including the $10,000 Main Event, which begins on July 7th. This year, the Main Event will feature three starting days instead of the customary four and wrap up in October with the nine-handed final table.
