Career-High Score Helps Sweden’s ‘C Darwin2’ To March PLB Title

Swedish online poker superstar 'C Darwin2' grabbed the March PLB.

It probably won’t come as a surprise to anybody who’s been paying attention, but the March PocketFives Leaderboard was dominated by the #1-ranked player in the world: Sweden’s ‘C Darwin2’.

The online legend marked March as one of the biggest months in his entire career by earning a career-high score of over $267,000 with a victory in Event #7 of the PokerStars High Rollers Series. The major win also brought him a heaping 1,104.54 PLB points. While many players who are lucky enough to win six-figures in a single tournament will do so once in a career, ‘C Darwin2’ managed to do that twice in the month. He also banked over $161,000 by finishing runner-up in Event #70 of the PokerStars Turbo Series which helped him pile on another 687.22 PLB points. His total earnings for the month propelled him to over $8.9 million in lifetime earnings. In total, ‘C Darwin2’ out scored the entire field by no less than 1,610 PLB points and it came in a 31 day period he’s sure to remember.

Malta’s Pim ‘joppiesaus’ de Goede lands in the #2 ranking for March with a majority of his earned PLB points coming from his victory in the PokerStars $1M GTD Twin Turbos Main Event. The $50 buy-in brought him over $143,000 and 1,194.24 PLB points. Like ‘C Darwin2’, de Goede’s major victory also marked a career-high score for the grinder. His massive March helped de Goede step into the Worldwide Top 25.

When you win the PokerStars Sunday Million, good things are going to happen. That’s how Canadian ‘GINS FINEST’ found himself shooting up the Worldwide Rankings (currently sitting at #15) and landing in the #3 PLB rankings in the month of March. ‘GINS FINEST’ won over $161,000 for taking down the March 18 edition of the Sunday Million and in total notched 16 qualified PLB scores during the period. He also paired his Sunday Millions victory with a win in Event #5 of the PokerStars High Rollers Series for an additional $65,625. In total, ‘GINS FINEST’ finished March with six scores of five-figures or better.

Coming in at #4 in March is Lithuania’s top ranked pro, ‘dartazzzz’. In total, ‘dartazzzz’ accumulated up 31 four-figure or greater scores with 14 qualifying PLB cashes.

2017 WCOOP Main Event Winner Steven ‘SvZff’ van Zadelhoff returned from a trip to the Aussie Millions to get back on the online grind and ended up with the #5 rank for March. The Worldwide #2-ranked ‘lena900’ was ranked #6 for March, helped by eight scores that qualified for PLB points including winning a $16,000 package to the partypoker MILLIONS Grand Final in Barcelona.

Former Worldwide #1-ranked Fabrizio ‘SixthSenSe19’ Gonzalez takes the #7 spot while the #8-ranked Ramiro ‘Ramiro’ Petrone also had a career-high score of $282,436 and 1,086.29 PLB points when he won one of the PokerStars Turbo Series Twin Main Events.
