They call him Wicked617on PokerStarsand Tim Reilly (pictured) in the real world. Whatever you want to call him, he’s relevant on our site because, in part, he took down the PokerStars Sunday $100 Rebuy on the final day of August and came away with $51,000. Unlike other Sunday Majors we’ve reported on, this one had no chop.

“It feels great,” Reilly told PocketFives. “I’ve had big stacks in this tournament before, but for one reason or another came up short. So, when I got deep, I didn’t get my hopes up; I kept playing poker. It didn’t really hit me until I finished the session later that night that I had won.”

As its name suggests, the Sunday $100 Rebuy allows for multiple bullets. Reilly commented on how much money he dunked into the event: “I started with twice the starting stack and took the add-on. I don’t think this is the most +EV strategy, but I come from a cash game backgroundand feel I have a big edge over a lot of Sunday recreational players who make mistakes early.”

He is up to $568,000 in lifetime winnings in online tournaments and can be found at #286 worldwide in the PocketFives Rankings. He has five scores of at least $25,000 and when asked how he’d allocate his latest riches, he jested, “I’d love to say going to Disneyland, but unfortunately I’ll be reinvesting most of it back into poker. I make my living playing poker and one thing I’ve learned is not to run out and spend it all on flashy things. I’ll use some to live a comfortable life, but building a larger bankroll is my main goal.”

As Reilly mentioned, he was formerly a cash game player, playing ring games before Black Friday on Full Tilt. After Full Tilt vacated the US market, Reilly turned to live poker before deciding to move from Boston to Amsterdam. He explained, “I starting playing $1/$2 online and have played up to $5/$10. Live, I play anywhere from $5/$10 to $10/$25 to once in a while taking shots at $25/$50. I like to play cash games and tournaments, probably so I don’t get bored. Cash is more profitable for me, but I love the competitive aspects of MTTs.”

He was in Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker in 2012 when he made the decision to hop “The Pond” to jolly old Europe. In Vegas was WSOP bracelet winner Andrew Badecker (pictured), whom Reilly said was “having some success backing a few players and liked the way I played. We became friends and he asked if I would play for him. He was leaving to go to Europe and the catch was I had to go. I can’t say I was at all reluctant. I was actually really excited and happy to have a shot to play bigger.” The move officially happened in August 2012.

Speaking of Amsterdam, he is the #2 ranked player in the Netherlands and got into poker courtesy of his father. He said, “I learned to play from my dad, but took more of an interest when I saw my friends making a lot of money online. I got in really late, but never stopped asking questions and had confidence in my game.”
