Another mark of Moorman’s that stands above the rest is his number of Triple Crowns. Moorman currently owns 25 pieces of this hardware, four more than second place Nicolas ‘PokerKaiser’ Fierro. To put in perspective just how many Triple Crowns 25 is, third place on the all-time list,Peter ‘Belabacsi’ Traply, owns 11. “The funny thing is that I think I’ve only just recently started to realize how much of an achievement it is to have won 25 of them as I’ve not won one for a few years and have had a number of near misses along the way in that time. I don’t use them to measure myself against other players but I like the fact that I still have the record for the most ever. Although [Fierro] is fast catching me with 21 so I need to up my Triple Crown game once again to fend him off from overtaking my record.”

It comes as no surprise that with all of Moorman’s achievements, his ranking has reached #1 quite a few times. 13 times, to be exact. Moorman first reached the plateau of online poker in August 2008 and his most recent view from the top ended in April 2014. The longest stint for Moorman at the peak of the online poker world came between October 2011 and October 2013 when he held claim to the #1 spot for effectively two consecutive years.

Reaching #1 was a dream for Moorman from the time he first started playing and the hours of grinding paid off for him on that fateful Wednesday in 2008.

“It was an incredible feeling for me. I knew I was in with a shot of making it that week. At the time the rankings were updated every Wednesday morning at around 9 am. I remember constantly hitting refresh on my internet browser to see the new rankings for a week and just feeling immensely satisfied when I saw myself sitting at the top. I’d put a lot of hours and hard work in to make it there and when I first started playing it was a dream for me which I felt like I’d never even get close to achieving.”

When the Online Poker Hall of Fame is erected, Moorman will be a first ballot inductee. His tournament career is literally the best of all time and his badge count dwarfs everyone around him. Moorman admits he doesn’t put in nearly as much volume as he once did now that he lives in the United States but whenever a series like SCOOP comes around, Moorman always has a chance to add more to career haul.
